Have you tried a rubber tree? I've dropped it, broken half the roots in replanting, over fertilized it till the leaves turned yellow, it's currently infested with some sort of unidentified mite, and hacked it back several times... It's still thriving! Just a thought

never heard of a rubber tree... guess I'll have to look that one up. Just my luck I'd actually be able to kill it...hahahahaha like the cactus

Would it be really hard to inject vines with like a diabetics needle worth of poison to kill it? Has this ever been attempted? I'm getting tired of the impossible weeds ;(

that is a wonderful thought - then one wouldnt have to worry about killing the surrounding plants or can kill evil plants around septic/ water tanks..... hmmmm someone I think should try this... probably could use that stuff that was recommended just inject it into the plant....

My only concern is that there isnt enough give in the plant material to allow proper injection... ?

So today was a bad day as well for us- I lost one of my Lavender Orpington hens- think she wound up injured and today couldn't stand up, she just fluttered around trying to move- also had to put a baby chick down as well. Poor thing couldn't use its leg properly and during inspection of it found it had a nodule where the leg bends, so it wasn't able to have full use of the leg.

I know these things happen sometimes but doesn't make it any easier to still have to put a bird down - esp a baby. Everyone else tho are doing great - one I think it's nickname is Happy Feet, I've never seen a chick so excited to do a little shuffle like it does, couldn't help but crack up at the antics - least I felt a little better after my day watching little Happy Feet

Not growing vines because of bindweed, is like not growing daffodils because of dandelions!

Bindweed is HORRID. I'd STILL trade it for horsetails. If you just stay consistent ripping up the bindweed, it will stop growing and can't reseed. The more you rip horsetail out , the more it grows and spreads! Granted, horsetail tea rinse for your hair will beat ANY salon treatment for thicker, stronger hair! I like to infuse mine with rosemary and mint. Hair is shiny and smells good for DAYS, and it is a natural insect repellent. So is lavender, but I just do not like the smell of lavender. I grow it, for medicinal properties... but I'm just not a fan. My daughter adores it. To each their own!

I am the type that kills philodendrens but can grow orchids. Go figure. The plant in my yard that is struggling the most... peppermint. Seriously. Stop by and I will prove it! I can't grow easy stuff. Killed 4 aloe plants thus far. And a cactus. 3 spiderplants. I'd go on... but it depresses me.

BTW... 6 chicks busy eating. How 6 bantam sized chicks can eat almost a cup of food in one day (and no, there is little spillage) is beyond me! Are we SURE chicks can't die of overeating?

LMAO mine already went through a 1 gallon feeder.... I looked in and they were empty... I was like really? Go figure it's the bantams.... how can those small little birds each that much, when the bigger birds havent even hit halfway.....

I feel better now! I've never had little guys before. Had productions and dual purpose of lots of types. These guys were new to me. I cannot believe how much they eat and drink. They are like ferrets on meth. Either they are eating, drinking, and running wind sprints (they may end up brain damaged from all the collisions... not sure they have figured out brakes yet. Or... they just dont care). And as soon as they stop doing one of those three activities, they play dead (which was much cuter before they started randomly dying).
