Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Feed stores might have some still. The feed store by my place has some started pullets for sale that weren't sold from their spring chick orders. I am not close to Puyallup though.

I got a black langshan from someone locally and 100% fell in love with the breed. I'd like more, but preferably from a reputable breeder, and ideally blue, splash, or white. Anyone in the area breed these creatures?

I was looking for a Washington forum but man there are so many posts to read through.... I will keep it for late night reading when I can't sleep. I love Washington!!!! I love my birds and I love my Seahawks!!!!!!! Use to love rain, but I'm starting to forget what it feels like lol.

I have a wonderful thing to have to deal with.........................

YUCK.................

I have a 1 yr old Blue OE, that lays an awesome avacado-spotted EX large egg every day.......who is crop impacted.
I have kinda waited to see if she is going to handle it, and we did the hang-upside down thing months ago....
I am thinking I should get my surgical stuff out & deal with it....but I still need some local anesthetic.................so we'll see, I hate to operate on an animal with no local !

What happened with your bird... I had a crop impacted young pullet once and had to aid in the removal... Time and patience. I then fed her gaterade and she healed... She is now a 22 week old Minorca... Small..... Because I think the impacted crop stunted her a bit but happy.

Brand new chicken mama here! I have seven breeds I'd like to combine to start my flock, but all of the bigger hatcheries have minimum orders that are far too many chicks for this lady! Any suggestions??? I'm in puyallup

The tractor stores in Oly and Lacey are no longer selling birds but there is a Facebook group called thurston county livestock that you can really find deals.... Just today I saw a gal selling 12 laying hens at a year old and a coop for 180 bucks and she was located in yelm which isn't to far from you...

I just got 4 chicks to add to my flock from a place called Baxer Barns in Fall City (about an hour from Puyallup I believe). They have day old chicks year round every Friday and have hundreds of birds of all ages if you want older. This was my 1st time going there but I heard about them from a few different people who raved about them and said it is their #1 go to for all chicken needs.
