I wouldn't have to worry about the fatal ear tuft thing unless I crossed second gen right?

From what I understand, I may be wrong, if a bird is clean faced it lacks the gene itself. If you breed t/t you will have approx. 50% die in the shell, the other 50% gets divided between clean and tuft. Each tufted bird carries both genes for clean and tufts. They are a combo between quetros (rumpless) and coloncas (tufted).

Okay, I assumed your roo was tufted. My bad. I may take you up on that in the spring. I prefer the muffs on the Amerucaune, watch the one breed I want a roo from be all pullets. I'm at max capacity so I'm already going to have to do some finageling to get all the hens I want in.

There was a conversation earlier in the thread as to what putting an Ara with an Ameracauna would create... I was told it would technically be an EE, although Ams are made from Aras. I'm confused. Dang double helix stuff.

Where did you get your silkie eggs? Would love to add a couple to my flock.

The eggs are from my silkies. I had a beautiful white roo and a splash roo with two black hens. Unfortunately a bear got them all but only one black hen managed to survive. I'd be more than happy to send you some eggs but it would be a while before I can do that (never shipped before either)... She only lays maybe 2-3 eggs a week now but I'm not sure if they would be fertile anymore.
