Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I'm not trying to be a breeder. When I say, HAVE to cull, it would be something like a meat bird that grows to fast for itself.

I'm sorry if I came off poorly. I'm pickin up what your laying down now

If your going to wait till spring.. you'll find chicks everywhere. .just look for feed store.. they will sell pullets chicks and you won't have any roosters to cull.
I know that, that is what I will be doing this year, but I would like breeders who I know have cared for their birds properly.

Ok well if I'm successful at these delewares I'm try to hatch..I plan on breeding them this summer so I'll have chicks this early summer to sell. .

Remember when you buy from local breeders. ..usally it's hatch run..unless you find some to sell sexlinks..
So hatch run will mean you will have some roosters to cull...
I think Enumclaw auctions off chickens.. so you could take your extras there to get rid of them.

I've always heard the chickens don't like to get wet. And they don't like the rain. But today my chickens are standing out there in the rain perfectly happy., this is not new They have never seem to be bothered by it, is this normal or do I just have a weird chickens?

I woke up to the egg song this morning! My first egg from the new flock go laid by this pretty little RIR, Una. It weighed 1.8oz and was delicious! I'm ecstatic. Here it is next to a store bought jumbo! Not bad for a first egg.
Congratulations! That's an awesome first egg!
