Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Yes, that's the plan!

we have our day mapped out!

Anyone need/want male faverolle chicks? I have 4 male 2.5 week olds available. I cannot have roosters so there is no point in growing them out for me. They have decent feet (an important trait in 5 toed breeds) and are very active. They are from breeder eggs that I hatched - not hatchery birds. PM me if you are interested.

Good morning all, looks like I will be tying chicken wire to our existing field wire the next two days
to keep our smallest dog in as he can walk through it

That's funny!  My Andalusians CHASE my dog!  He thinks they are playing, it's hilarious to watch.  I just hope they never "chase" a coyote! :/

Actually, I think chickens can be pretty smart and actually recognize other animals... Just my personal experience... When we bought this house, we inherited the previous owner's chickens... The previous owners had dogs and they still come by because they have family nearby... Their dogs will come to our house and the chickens have no fear of those dogs... But one time a friend came over with her dog (an unfamiliar dog to them) all the chickens were sounding the alarm call and freaking out.

Is anyone going to the Washington Feather Fanciers Spring show March 19? Do you know of any silkie breeders who might be there that have anything available?

I've never been to a show before... Is it just a show to judge chickens or do people sell chickens too? I looked up their website but it doesn't have any information at all and I think they might even have the wrong date on their website! Everything I've seen says 3/19 but the Fancier's website says 3/14.
