I'm headed to the NW Washington Flower and Garden Show tomorrow! So excited! Has anyone here been before? This is my first.

Cool! I spent alot of my childhood living on Clear Creek Road, 5 miles past Bangor. We should visit and talk chickens!

That's a great area. I'm spending most of my time in Mason County where I work. Might be looking to move.

I thought I posted this earlier but I can't find it. I got three new chicks today. One Road Island red, one white Plymouth rock, and one barred rock.

I know what you mean! I need to go stock up on feed and bedding NOW so I don't have to walk in the feed store during "chick days"...I couldn't handle it!!!

The stores around here all have chicks now. I need about 100 acres to keep all the animals that I would like to get. My friends think I'm insane. But who could walk away from those cute little faces? Now I just have to stop myself from getting more of them.

I am right beside you on that

we have 3/4 an acre I am already getting 3rd and 4th geodesic buildings, We had the first as a place for our 2 old snapper riding mowers and garden type things as in Shelton before my friend had no set place for anything because the house was small the basement housed everything including a sink washer and dryer with many years of collecting tools. here he has a huge garage with two, two car bay doors and two shops on the side I wanted him to have it all without the extra.
The next dome came as I had many more chickens than we had originally planned, I had said I wanted just 6 or 8 that turned into 16. and am now getting a 3rd top only to make another shorter dome for 6 more chickens and a 4th full one to put a outside "party central" geodesic with a "kitchen" by an old gazebo in out front yard. Also my garden fence and greenhouse does not allow for any more thankfully.( except a few more chickens maybe)

Hmmm. So how many chickens can I fit in a 8x17 coop? (They free range every day.)

Right now they have two nesting boxes but my husband is building a two level set with 4 on top and 4 on the bottom.

Edited to say: We have 11 chickens right now and 7 Bielefelders that are coming in March.
