He is both Blue and Barred. Weird that she's broody. Her momma has never gone broody. My Australorps, on the other hand, always seem to be broody.
Should produce a range of coloring. About 50% will inherit the blue dilute gene for black patterning, and 50% will inherit barring (it's a modifying gene that produces white stripes all over the body). About 50% will be gold base color, and about 50% will be silver base color. And about 50% will have muffs, that pullet only has one copy of that gene. She is 'pure' for the blue egg gene and the pea comb gene though. You'll get about 50% blue layers and 50% green layers. Of the green layers, about 50% may have the right genes for olive green eggs.

Dateline: YESTERDAY: Commotion in the back room. I run just as fast as I can - which is not very fast. Open the door to see this little guy in Momo's mouth. I yell. Kitty drops the chick but stays in hunt mode. I swept the chick up so fast and run to the laundry room. Ten chicks running loose and panicked. I quickly move them back into the laundry basket brooder. Then, still holding this little guy to check for injury, I yell for Drew who wrangles another chick who had escaped the cat by hiding under the washer.
This chick's name is now Lucky. :)

This morning we took a 3x5 wire dog cage and put 5" of hardware cloth all around the bottom of the walls. Now everyone is happily playing and safe in the sunshine.

The have had you in physical therapy right? :idunno
I was very fortunate just have the arthritis
not the pain after the ACL split the more I use the less pain I actually get unless it is in my neck:weee

I am going to try doing physical therapy on my own and not pay to have someone watch me exercise. I already had to pay $20 to meet with a physical therapist to tell insurance what I already knew - I needed an MRI and not physical therapy. If I had done what Molina wanted me to do I would not have had a tendon left by the time I had surgery because it would have just damaged it further. I have a gym membership so I can start on the exercise bike and work up to using the treadmill. I will still be in the aircast boot for several months before I can use an ankle brace that fits in my shoe. I have already started stretching without twisting the ankle so once it is okay to twist the ankle without injuring it I will do more exercises at home too. I don't think there is any reason to spend money for physical therapy when we need a transmission for our car.
