Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I was thinking it could be just these cups.  I may try again in the future but I think these will go back, otherwise I will have $25 into it plus new cups, don't know that it's worth it for this particular waterer.
Thanks!

I think the cooler is a neat idea as far as helping with temperatures but I agree. $25.00 is a little spendy and if they don't work they definitely need to go back. I only had an occasional one out of the 4 packs that didn't;t work right.

That's what I am planning on doing. It sounded from your post like you were going to shoo her off the nest daily and I wondered if that would work... You have far more experience than I so I was just wondering.
I haven't put her in a cage yet. She's been brooding long enough that the hormones are starting to fade on their own.

this is the water cup off amazon we paid 11.99 for 10 of them we bought about 4 other little things the same time so do not recall if we would have paid shipping

Guess what I just added to my wish list...

@junebuggena
super nice little tractor run even if it is for bunnies
would also be a great 1 or 2 bird coop pretty easy

Quote: I did get the cooler for 19.99 but I knew it would help in summer and winter
I did find 2.5 cooler at goodwill but with 18 hens I would be filling it 4 times a day
the 5 gallon maybe 1 time a day
going to gravity type feeders also so I and James are not always tripping on them
or birds knocking them over

If I ever need a space to separate a cockerel or a breeding trio, it's handy to have. The bunnies will only be in it till they are big enough for processing, maybe 2 to 4 weeks at a time.
I really need to scrounge up some more pallets to build a duck or goose house. And the hubby wants turkeys.

I posted photos of the bachelor pad we built now I need to make a broody pen
of some sort going to start with a dog crate and a hanging lamp some flannel
scraps of material I have keep it in my room the first couple of days

I don't separate my broodies from the flock for one big reason. Reintegration is a pain. My hens brood in a dog crate inside the coop. And adults don't usually bother chicks that are hatched in the flock. It's really funny to see them all gather round, cackling their heads off, as the chicks start peeping in their shells.
