I could not touch one....ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww ! More power to you though !
One of the vet techs is weirded out by the pupae. She touched one thinking they don't move but they do wiggle a bit and that freaked her out. I just grab them up so it does not bother me. Handling the mealworms and beetles is not an issue for me either. It is strangely satisfying watching the beetles emerge from the pupae as the life cycle continues. I also love seeing the tiny baby worms, even knowing they will grow up to be feeders.
It is not as gross as picking maggots out of a sheep's flesh wound! When I lived in Colorado we used to get the "no bid" sheep from the auction in order to doctor up whatever caused them to be pulled from the group and they came in from Wyoming pretty neglected. The overgrown wool can hide things until you get up close to check them over.

ah well tapatio is another hot sauce stronger but not dangerous it could be the e collar is a choiceSo Athena decided that she doesn't mind hot sauce. That dog has more heat tolerance than I do.
After spending a day watching her like a hawk and voicing my displeasure when she would lick the spot, she finally got the idea and left it alone. All the redness is gone and it's just got a scab over it now. Healing up nicely.
She normally leaves them alone so I don't know what her deal was this time. These sebaceous cysts are a reoccurring thing for her. Different foods don't help. Me catching them when they are small does.
