Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Sounds like she's being a good girl.

I dump my broodies in the communal pens off the nest once a day when I feed, however, those in the isolation pen have food and water a foot in front of them so I leave them be.

I'm tempted right now to put the blue cross hen in the isolation pen with some dummy eggs to see if she'll sit since she goes broody easy.

The lightest and darkest pullets you got from me are her daughters. Can only only hope they got some of her broody traits.

appears so she is being diligent about keeping them warm but got up to eat have some outdoor roll we bought the guys go after the ones I make so broke another up for the 4 she was in the middle with the others munching but then back to her nest

Hens will leave the nest to eat and do those huge horrible poops at least once a day. Maybe take a dust bath before returning.

My incubator has a setting to imitate this. Cool down period where it turns the heat off for whatever time you set.

I bought a new incubator I have the hova bator but never super happy with it

Nice day, 3 in a row can you believe it ?
I have a cherry tree to dig up & relocate, it is in a really gravelly hot place in the summer....and still have some zebra grass and roses to prune.
Gotta get grass pulled before I can plant those 75 gladiolas...........I bit off more than I want to chew there !
It is one of those things where for $5 more you get 15 more bulbs, so I bought the big bag.................what was I thinking ?
:th

We have a hatching incubator full of babies..............and more eggs going in the big incubator today.
Hope everyone is doing ok & enjoying the sunshine !

Ive been selecting for temperament now. The boys Im keeping and have been using for breeding now are almost all friendly. I can just walk up to them and pick them up. One follows me around and will tug on my pants for attention. He likes me to pick him up so I'll rub his earlobes.
Awwwwwww, how sweet ! And great protein on that feed ! Wish we had it around here !

Pics I took today as I had the Barnevelders out in the garden yard..............
