Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Could have gotten my eggs from if you have a cockerel ... kinda like the V-8 thing right
I have 3 cocks and 20 hens. I do not sell any. My plan is to bred to SOP. My goal is to have birds that meet SOP standards. I have a 5 year plan and will process a lot of chicken. The cockerels make really nice eating. The hens that do not meet standard, still lay very nice eggs. Just saying beware of where you purchase your stock. TOM

@Chickielady gave me the name to look for mine are just egg layers to sell the eggs not show

Best darkest FBCM I have seen out here was from @Zgoatlady....................no longer on BYC but she is on FB and has no more flocks, but she said she was looking to get some more.
The birds she had were so awesome !
Eggs were so dark it was crazy ! And HUGE.
Barely fit in a Jumbo egg carton.
My Silver Cuckoo Line laid some HUGE really dark eggs (brown sugar colored) and then I started breeding to cull out the high tail set on some, and ended up with pretty birds that laid medium light brown eggs.
Breeding Marans is a 2 X challenge, once for body SOP, once for egg color.
I bred out my egg color while breeding in physical SOP.
THEN they started producing white chicks......and the eggs got even lighter, so POOP.
:he
I liked them better when they had a (too) high tail set, and laid a jumbo dark brown egg.
