Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

One of my Marans laid a jumbo egg today and I had another that was getting close!

Big eggs happen allot with hens over achievers allot of them are ...
double yokers happen most often with new layers but can sometimes
pop up from older girls
I've been getting double yolkers, so this one is probably one too! Overachiever is right, but that's okay, they can just keep on doing what they're doing! :)

Another first! I just went out and did my evening egg check...I got my first blue egg from one of my EE's! I thought they were both laying already and the eggs were bluish green, but evidently not! Pretty excited and loving my egg basket! I want to get one more hen that lays blue eggs and maybe a white egg layer!

The two blue colored eggs are actually just a little bit different shades, the one on the left has more green in it, but it's hard to see that in the picture, but I suppose they could have been laid by the same hen!

I know the feed store gets their birds from Privett Hatchery and they carry white d'uccles. Beards, feathered feet and the vulture hocks fit with the breed. That and it's tiny for 10 weeks. The silkie that age is 50% larger though the fluff makes it look even bigger.
