Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Friends, I am perplexed. I am letting my broody set on 6 eggs, since yesterday. Now the other 6 girls did not lay one egg today. Broody is in the favorite nesting box. Will the others resume laying? Also, another ?, I have a whole bag of chick starter. Can my 18wk. pullets still eat that with a supplement if oyster shell, or is layer feed better? Can the hens have the chick starter? 2 pullets laid yesterday (Yay) and today 2 soft eggs.

Are you positive she still only has 6 eggs under her? They may all still be laying their eggs there.

Chick starter will be just fine for everyone to eat. It’s probably higher protein than the layer. Your other questions got addressed already. Good luck!

@PopoMyers Please do not shoot me but need to know breeds ages why did you let her sit in preferred box?
All are almost 2 y.o., She is the barnyard mix, low/middle of the pecking order. Also have 2 Welsummers, 2 Golden Comets, 1 ISA, 1 black sex link. 4 pullets are in a separate coop, and just started laying 2 days ago. My new rooster has been mating with any he can conquer, except maybe the Wels, but he's close. Should I move her? (And how to?) There are 5 boxes, She is on one end. The box in the other end is/was also favored. They have laid in the other boxes. This is all new to me. Thanks for your input and advice. I'll see if there are eggs today, still early. Marked the ones she's setting. These girls and boy keep me guessing, and entertained.

I have been getting allot of lettuce spinach and arugala.
We have two early girls and 2 roma tomato one tomatilla..
Hoping to have fruit on them soon they have blossoms. :idunno
My tomatoes have blossoms, finally. Romaine and red leaf lettuce, and garlic to be dug soon, snow peas almost done, kale for the girls! Grass will soon be brown, but thinking of sprinkler under trees to keep the grass green for them to eat.
