Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Stopped at Kaija this afternoon and picked up a couple San Marzano tomato plants to replace one that I don't think is going to make it and to fill a hole. Too hot to plant them, but I did.
Only one of my tomato plants was wilting in the heat this afternoon, and I'm pretty sure it's the one that had the root ball disintegrate when I took it from the pot. All the others are standing strong.

I saw that little fawn and mama yesterday again, and it was steady on its feet this time.

So did get the peep food switched to x-cell for them bought 50 less than the 8 pound I had been getting.
Good enough I buy it in pellet for my big Girls.
We are showing 90 not going out in the heat.
I got a new kind of Xcel feed from the Onalaska feed store. It's an all flock feed, pellets, 18% protein. I've been feeding to the girls soaked with water and they like it that way. I filled the dry feeder with it today. The pellets are larger than the other feed I was getting.

I shut off the heater in the little chick's space in the coop. I think they're feathered out enough where they'll stay warm enough at night.

Filled both feeders today and cleaned the waterers, refilled with cool fresh water. It's probably hot by now. LOL

Got the little row of Blue Lake beans planted.

If my tomatoes make it I think they will give enough fruit to make my marinara. If not, I'll head out to Jeremy's. I have several green tomatoes now. Clearly started them too soon. And although most of what I read online said not to top them when they got so tall, I now think I should have. Oh well. Just one grand experiment after another around here.

Exciting morning so far. In the garden I picked all the lettuce and collards and put the collards in the freezer, then watered the butternut squash plants.

I just finished putting bands on the 7 New Hampshire pullets. They didn't like it much when I held them against my chest and put the zip ties on but I think they'll get over it. Next I want to weigh each of them but I'll wait a few days for that. That should be fun.

Here they are showing off their new jewelry.
