We got our first egg from one of our pullets. So cute and little. That's 19 weeks old! Soonest I've ever had one lay.

Got up to 96 here. I think the trees keep us shaded a little. I am spoiled here. I keep the thermostat at 72.

I made a batch of sauerkraut today with cabbage from the garden. Didn't you make some Penny Jo?

Nope not great seems something is not working. The shredder I bought makes little I am not getting thin slices but little specks.

I chopped the cabbage on the coarse side today, larger chunks so there's less chance of them floating to the top. Didn't take long to do it with my big chef's knife.

Nice an cool here today actually have all the windows open for the fresh air! Chickens are loven it they not even bugging to get out of the chicken run.

Cool here too but I just closed up all the windows. It's 75 outside, 69 indoors. Figured I'd keep the cool trapped inside.

I pruned the cucumber vines, something I've never done before and I hope it works. I wrapped another (higher) loop of wire around my growing tomato plants to keep them supported.

It looks like I should have plenty of snow pea seeds for next year. There are quite a few pods fattening up on the vine.

Fertilized and watered the lower garden plot, tomatoes, peppers and beans. I can see a few jalapeno peppers on the plants, but they could be New Mexico Hatch peppers. I don't really know what's planted where. At least I'll have peppers for my salsa.
