Sounds like you have pampered chickens, having the fans for them. I make mine just tough it out when it's hot. They dig down into the dirt floor and dustbathe in cool dirt if they feel the need.

I like the PUD too. Cheap electricity, just over 7 cents a kilowatt hour now. I get a couple power outages a year during bad weather... snow, ice, windstorms. But I have a small generator I can use to get enough juice for a little heat and to keep the fridge and freezer running.

I have small fans in the main coop 3 working windows 20 x 30 foot coop fans are 9 inch square so not large but draw in air.
1 in the old banty coop. They move air that seem to help.

I gave my son a tour of my garden to show him all the work I've been doing. He doesn't have much time these days since he has to commute 200 miles a day from here for work, so it was nice to spend a little time with him.

The grandkids will be here this weekend which'll be nice. Every other weekend is the deal allowed by the judge for now, until the divorce is finalized.
