Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I finished planting my kale, cabbage and collard starts in the garden today. Good day for it because it was relatively cool and kind of cloudy.

I have a bunch of cucumbers in the fridge, so I think I'll make sweet relish tomorrow. I was going to make it this morning but procrastinated.

There's still just one of the New Hampshire pullets laying eggs so far. I wish they'd hurry up and all start laying so I can start having eggs for breakfast every day again.

One of the New Hampshire cockerels is starting to act different, more "cocky" sort of. But none of the three have started crowing yet and they're 17 weeks old. The pullets are close to 22 weeks old.

The barred rocks started laying at around 14 or 15 weeks, and they laid good size eggs right from the start. I'm not disappointed because I get a feeling that with the New Hampshires starting later they won't have the reproductive problems that the BRs did.

Beans to pick tomorrow from the Blue Lake pole beans.
