Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

So I broke down and let the girls free-range today. They're soaking wet. The goofballs don't know how to get out of the rain. Are they going to be OK, or do I need to blow-dry them?
Man, if I was you I would hurry up and grab the wet ones and put them in your bath tub and give them each a towel. Blow-drying them would help

! Or ya could do like CR does. put them in the oven at 350 for an hour! that should dry them

Getting ready to go let my girls out now. some will come out in the rain others just stay under the barn

It's Reel Time trivia so put on your fishing thinking cap

Posted by Mark Yuasa

Here is the Reel Time Pacific Northwest fishing and outdoor trivia question of the week:
Often time the excellent fall salmon fishery on the Humptulips River can be as busy as I-5 during the morning rush hour so this other not so nearby option can also have its grand moments for coho, chinook and winter steelhead.
This is a tributary and flows into the Queets River on the west side of the Olympic Peninsula, and the remoteness means don't look for many amenities in this neck of the woods. It is located about 62 miles north of Hoquiam and a road with the same name parallels the river for about 12 miles.
Where am I fishing?
The person to answer this question first will win a nice outdoor related book or some fishing tackle.
Please email your answer to [email protected]. The winner will be announced on Friday, Oct. 26. Be sure to include an email plus phone number so we can ensure you'll get your prize.
This will be an ongoing weekly trivia contest where the winner will receive a prize that will range from books, fishing gear and other cool items from the outdoors gunnysack.
Here are our rules for The Seattle Times contest.

I got a nice email this morning from the woman in Yakima who drove over the pass to buy my beautiful "Mr. Darcy", the blue English Orpington. He should be just over 6 months or so now I think. She let me know that her young daughter showed him at the show in Salem last week and that Mr. Darcy took Reserve Champion English in the Youth show!
I'm not really sure if that's good or not,

, but I'm so pleased that he has such a nice home where he has his own girls and is being shown.
That's pretty good! I'm sure they are as pleased to have Mr. Darcy as he is with his new home.

Dang I Hate Needles!! I've always known there was a good reason for avoiding them, especially hypodermic needles! Tuesday morning DH and I got a shingles vaccination. The pharmacist said that once in a while, although rarely, did anyone have a reaction and then it was just a small rash around the injection site. Well, I'm here to tell you that we both still have a sore arm! There's a spot about the size of a coffee mug on my arm that's been very tender since the shot. And for two and a half days my collar bone itched like crazy, and I don't think it was a coincidence. Today it's my arm that itches instead of my collar bone. Then if I actually scratch it, IT HURTS!

Have any of you had this vaccination? Any similar reactions?

All that said, I'd rather have these minor annoyances than Shingles!!! But boy, this is one more mark in the 'Why Not' column for my argument against needles!!
I feel for you. I got told that I really needed to have a flu shot since some of the treatments lowers and person immunity to the flu. So this is the first time that I have ever bothered to get a flu shot. Sure enough I got the flu a week after the shot. I haven't ever felt the need for a flu shot before. I'm still not convinced that I will ever bother with another. I am getting slowly better and hope that things will get easier to manage.
