Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Yep, and the rival of the University of Michigan. The backstory is that Julie and I both have Michigan relatives and we like the Buckeye breed but weren't sure how the family would take it. So we joked about putting little Michigan Ms on the chickens' backs so they would be "okay" to those folks. Just some lighthearted fun!

Whatcha think?

My cute little Cocoa... the chick that bites that hand that feeds him/her...

Are we looking a little rooish?

BTW... I love the beautiful shades of brown on my dark birds.

Cocoa, Latte and Rocha...

Latte hatched out of the white (ahem... very light tan) egg. She's a lot smaller than everyone else. She's my 5-toed Zebra chick. I can't find any chick pics that come close to matching her to any sort of breed. I realize my chicks are mutts, but that doesn't keep me from trying to figure 'em out.

I tried everything with some of my heritage breeds (ie: Buckeyes, Javas, among others) and the only thing that ever worked (and worked quite well) was to toss said broody hen (in broad daylight) into another coop....the habitants of the "other" coop were not pleased, and would continue to chase the foreign hen around, not allowing hen to settle back into a "broody stupor" in their coop.
After a day or two of this, I'd put the hen back in her own coop.
If she goes broody again, back she'd go in a strange pen.
I can do this because I have many pens, but those of you with just one pen, cannot do this.
Sure is easier than any other method to break broodies.

Yippee! Maybe I can scratch "Broody Pen" off my list of things to build then, since I will soon have 2 coops & runs.

Latte looks very much like the Salmon Faverolles chicks IMO, which would make sense if Fudge is his/her Daddy. Cloverleaf may need to take a look and give you a better idea though. Here are a couple of pics of my Salmon Faverolles chicks when they were babies -
