I'm new to the whole backyard chicken thing, but I am from Washington so I thought I would stop over here and say hello.

Wow, That would be interseting to deal with. We had unwanted people on our property to!
Last night we had to men show up at our door after dark. One with a flashlight, they were asking about the house on the front of our property right off of the street. I talked to them for a few minutes and then asked them to leave. We were not to happy to find out that they had been walking around our property with out us knowing about it and had been looking into my chicken coop and everything after they had been searching the house on the front of the property.
Then today around 12 one of them came back and I really did not like that. Coming back when there is a possibilety that I was home alone or that no one was here! I got my CPL the other day and so I have been carrying which made me feel a lot better. And trust me I made sure he saw what I had. He asked questions like "are you home alone?" to which I said no my BIL is here which was a lie no one was here, then "do you have large dogs?" I said, "yes two very big dogs, great dane and mastiff and they hate strangers on our property". He then was talking about being in some sort of construction and that is why he was asking about the house (lastnight they were asking if it was for sale) but that he was not looking to buy it, as he was telling me that he carried his tools every where with him in his truck he walked over to his truck and opend the back gate (had a canopy on it) which was facing us, to so me his tools, right away I put my hand on my gun and made sure I was not in between him and his truck. He asked if we would want him to do any work on the house for us and I told him to give me his info so I could give it to DH (and the cops if need be) Then I asked him to leave, as he did DH just happend to call and the first thing I said was "hurry write this down" and gave him the license plat number. I also told him the make, moddle, color and year of the truck everything we would need for the cops, again if needed.
This was a very unsettling situation.

This is scarey !
The raiders next door carry their tools around too...so they can strip the house.
Inside, the house has sheet rock cut out so they could get at the copper plumbing, and wiring.
Hopefully you get the message across to keep them away !!!!

Einstein walks around with his 9mm on his belt....I have my 94 next to the bed, fully loaded.
The big guns are hidden away.
Sometimes the 2 of us go shoot the crap out of the big tree down the driveway, sounds like a war...just to let them know we are here on the other side of the fence, which is covered with dead fall (and that huge downed spruce)
From next door, you'd never know we were here !

Well we have the rivers running down the yard, down the driveway, and the ditch is full & running like a river with rapids out front...AND a high tide at 1:30 PM....so it is very soggy here to say the least...and boring.
Guess I will find something on the tube to watch.
Like pettec63, I am looking for a neat old movie & having no luck.
Other than that, Magic Mike is on pay-per-veiw now......hmmmmmmmmmmmmm that could be fun !

Can't go clean coops, birds are all inside having a big Texas Holdem Game..................

I saw a sign for a front door (or back) one time, it was hilarious and so true. It read: Our alarm system will go off it you break in. It will sound like gunfire and hurt a lot"

I wish I'd bought the sign, I've never seen another one like it!

Its been challenging finding all the random birds in one spot, though. I have no patients for CL anymore... Half the people aren't even real and DH and I are never on the same page when it comes to picking up something from there...all I hear is "I wanna boat!" all he hears is "I WANT CHICKENS!"
At least chickens are much cheaper than a boat/ After all the definition of a boat is "A boat is a hole in the water, in which you pour your money into." At least with chickens a person gets eggs, and you can always eat them if you become desperate.

Just tell him that you get to spend on chickens what he spends on his boat!

Gives you a good amout to start off with and then you know there is a never ending amount of money to put into a boat so you will have a steady amout of money to put twards chickens.

Okay the nasty little dogs are in their beds, and I am going to go to bed myself. TTFN

Heres a new picture of the Tunnel. It is now completely ready for plastic. Friday is the scheduled day as long as there is no wind. Look, theres my little Bella girl! Home safe and sound!

Man, that makes me nervous just reading it! Gotta hand it to you staying so calm and having the wits to get the license #!!! We have a 45 and recently got a nice 22 handgun that is easy on my hands. Both DH & I REALLY need to get our concealed weapons permits. I will feel more comfortable when using them (loading and handling as well as shooting) becomes more second-nature to me! The threat of "bad people" scares me FAR more than the threat of any animal.
