Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

CR here's our frog pic from last night at DH's wrk. Pretty cool, biggest frog we've seen here so far!

Awesome Bully !!!
We had 'pet' Bullies in our many koi ponds in CA...and bought crickets from the 'cricket man' for 1000 for $15 (shipping included) so we could feed them at night.

This is a young one

BIG MOUTH !!! He could swallow his own self !

Oh BTW... this is a native CA BF....I LOVE their big deep croaks...We used to sit on the patio at night and listen to them...and the males will fight belly-bucking each other.
The woggies are wonderful for eating algae in ponds too.

I wouldn't consider the ones I received junk trees, but they were tiny baby trees. Considering they are a non-profit foundation, I would not have expected them to ship out 10 large trees for $10. I put them in a sheltered tree nursery area to grow out. All of them survived a few years - last year's ice storm did 3 of the 4 I lost in. The other had been planted as part of a Camp Fire USA project. I still have 6 of the original 10 that I received, and they are doing OK. The ADF trees held up better than my $100 Magnolia tree did in that ice storm.

The Dogwoods are very large, the Golden Rain Trees and the Red Bud are much smaller.

Isn't today Monday? I'll PM you an address. I'm on Benson Hill (The Renton end of the Benson Hwy) straight up the hill from Valley Medical Center.

Since there is no hurry this time of year, and I won't likely be headed into Seattle this week. I can offer that I need to go to Reber Ranch this week, so either Wednesday or Thursday I will stop by RR about 3pm to pick up feed. If I know in advance I will drive the truck that day.

Russ

Next Monday we'll be going to the Museum of Flight.

You guys are so nice to go to so much effort for me. I keep telling everyone that chicken keeping people are the nicest people I've ever met...I've never met nicer or more helpful people in my life, and it makes me a nicer person as well

Russ-I can meet you anywhere in north Seattle, Northgate, Lake City, Lake Forest Park, Shoreline--anywhere you happen to need to go in the area.

I'll take photos of the 3 flowering trees and post them later on. The leaves have died and are beginning to fall, so they don't look that great right now. They were healthy through the summer.

Russ - they are small - about 2' tall - I doubt a truck will be necessary. Unless, of course, Slinglings wants the pine tree. That one is taller.

Ick...I think I have the flu.
Head hurts, sneezing..tummy ache.............TIRED.

I cleaned a few coops, and looked in on the ducks, and then I am taking a shower and putting on the flannel jams..comfort clothes.................ugh....almost have a bit of twirly whirlies..................Got to go on a feed run tomorrow though...GOT TO.

Hopefully this is a 24 hr bug then.

Speaking of plants, if anyone is interested I have a volunteer Buddleia butterfly bush in my driveway. I've been meaning to dig it up and send it to my sister-in-law, but the darn thing is now over 4 feet across and almost 6 feet tall. Anyone who wants it is welcome to it, and I can help dig it up (I don't think I can do it on my own). I'm in Lynnwood.

It's rather invasive, but it smells heavenly when it blooms! Silvery leaves and big purple spikes of flowers.

Jennifer
