Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

So I'm wondering just who is planning on attending the show in Chehalis? I've had it on my calendar since I first heard the date, there are some really cool events I want to attend. It looks like now if I do get to go at all it will just be for a couple of quick hours. I met with the director of an upcoming show last evening and he's invited me to callbacks for "The Children's Hour" (for a pretty major role) at Lakewood Playhouse and of course callbacks are this Saturday!

It's been a year since my last show so of course I'm always excited about the possibility of a new one, but come on! Why does it all have to happen on the same day? I'm just waiting for an email today that will give me a clearer picture of Saturday's callback schedule. I told DH that if I can at least go in the morning that #1 - he's going with me and #2 - we're going early so I can see everyone!

Hoping my scheduling works out...

I'm looking for my BYC t-shirt so I can be easily recognized, but just in case I can't find it, here's my latest "head shot". I'm sporting an early, early Christmas present from my BFF who says she just could NOT resist.

You guys know you're jealous...

Quote: It is supposed to pour rain all weekend. I can bring a card table, but I only have one. At this point I am planning on making baklava, and a GF almond tart. I may pick up a veggie tray from the grocery store.

I haven't had the best week, so I have been off and on about even coming. But I have been rather stingy with the pain meds, and if I have enough, I should be okay for the day. DH isn't going to get into town until sometime on Saturday, so at this point I am on my own. I may bring my sidekick though, so that I am not completely alone on the drive. The big dog would love to come, but I am not up to dealing with his happiness.

I think it will be easier if everybody brings their food offerings in to my booth and then I will direct ya to the trailer. After of course I have skimmed off a little sample. Simply To make sure that it is safe for the others!!

Quote: Yes Jean I understand that for anyone east Salem adds 160 miles to the round trip. I think they are counting on pulling from Cali. While I really liked Stevenson. Partly because I grew up in the Gorge and it is beautiful scenery. I also liked the facility at Salem. I will say that of the 4 PNPA shows I have done as a vendor. Salem was my lowest in sales. Will I do it again YES. I try not to judge a venue by one time.
Quote: Yes my trailer is available BUT the trailer is ONLY 6'x12'. I also have a 6' folding table and a 10 x 10 pop up if we need it. I plan to try to find a close location for the trailer maybe under one of the covered areas . Look for a little white trailer with some kind of pink flags on it!!! Maybe Friday when we get the trailer set and see if I can tap a current bush SOMEBODY (hint hint) with net on phone can post a better idea of plan.
This just reminded me that I also have a 10 x 10 pop up. I just need to get it from my sons home.

I love nasties. They are nice an peppery and very pretty.

I have a gardening question. The soil is fairly rocky here but the biggest issue is the water if it rains to much. I'm thinking of putting strawbales out in the garden, two side by side, and scooping out the center area to about halfway down and filling that with compost and soil up to the top. Would squash grow ok in that?

I know the acorn squash that came up volunteer this year loved the pile of composting chicken litter. The ones that came up in the regular soil didn't do so well, but the ones in the pile were great.
It should work. You want to make sure that you use wheat straw.

JB or CL, I don't remember which one of you asked for it, but here is my son finishing 8th out of 50 for District XC Chamionship qualifying him for State. It is one of the funniest running pics I have caught. Alex is #75 looks like he is gonna punch the kid he is passing, which he did pass just before the finish line.

And he was sporting his pink laces for Breast Cancer Awareness
Thank you for sharing your picture and son. Congrats again on his win.

I am planning on bringing a lunch meat tray...and a cheese tray, and a loaf of bread & a loaf or 2 of GF bread.
I am also planning on making a bucket of Toll House Cookies (in the morning) made with the Pamela's GF flour...THEY ARE SO GOOD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All GF food I bring will be marked, I have recipe cards & felt tip markers.

Easy-breezy make a smandwich & chat is what I am shooting for.

I also have a 1 gallon coffee thermos -dispensor (like at the gas station) push on the top the coffee comes out...should I bring it (filled of course) ???

Lemme know.
I plan on bringing a limited amount of hatching eggs:

BBS Jersey Giant and BBS Marans (in the same coop) LOL
French Silver Cuckoo Marans
EX. Black Javas.
Probably in 6-packs unless someone wants more~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Is there any possibility of getting any Blue Copper Marans eggs?

So...I have unearthed another quilt project half done...and so I am working on that.
A 3-stripe which I want to use with heart blocks like the one my Mom did...so 1 block of stripes, 1 block with a paper-pieced heart.

Imagine a 3-stripe block alternating between the heart blocks.
It should be very interesting to see when you get it done. Your mom's quilt is gorgeous.
