Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Quote: I am thinking that almost any whole grain could be substituted in the this recipe, and nearly any type of fresh fruit could be too. I am going to try this if for no other reason than to use up some of the things that have been hanging around my kitchen for way to long. I also have some whole oats that I need to use up......

Thank for sharing the recipe!!!

I have 6 hatched out 7 more coming.

The better pic from last night. I love dressing up! It was so fun once my headache went away! There was a gluten free dinner option, woohoo!! DH wouldn't let me bring my chicken purse though

Wow, my pen is *this* close to being a lake! Low spots in the gravel have standing water. Standing on the gravel makes it slowly squish down. The shavings that they've kicked out of the brooder are mixing with the wet gravel. Yuck! It's a total mess.

I'll have to clean it up after the storm is past. The chickens all seem to be just fine. I'm glad I didn't leave it as dirt or it would be much worse.

I can't wait until the big coop is finally done and the hens have a warm, dry place to hang out. And I can lock them in while I clean the pen instead of dodging birds and having to watch the pen door. Butter made a break for it last night when I left it open for a minute while checking the feeder. She shouldn't have even been out after the light went off, but for some reason she was sitting in the pen alone, out of the brooder, peeping so loud I could hear her in the front yard! Are all salmon Faverolles so loud, or did I just get "lucky"?
