"3 Araucana (lays blue shelled low cholesterol eggs)." -

To make it worse, there's a TAILED Easter Egger in the photo. Can't they call it an Americana or something?

I thought people by now knew of the low cholesterol myth. . . .

Can we all spell 'Ameraucana' or something ???? Oh Illia, you are the only perfect one.......

No, what I'm saying is that they couldn't at least say Americana, which I entirely understand looks like an Easter Egger. When you tell others that your own blue egg laying chickens have low cholesterol in their eggs, that's just wrong. And when you can't even bother to look up Araucana and see that they're VERY different, why bother? At least they're free though.

Not trying to be an "Ameraucana Police" as people call it.

Antibiotics kill germs, not viruses...headcolds are bacterial...they do not 'turn' they ARE caused by bactreria. No antibiotics kill viruses,, only bacteria.

Tis why we here use probiotics.

I am trying to find the hobbit house plans from Ireland, and it has all been changed, I am an Architectural major.

That is a COOL house!!!

Too funny, DH and I met in college, both of us have a BA of Arch. as well as a BA of Fine Arts. Neither of us ever got licensed though. I stopped working when my oldest was 2 1/2. DH went another direction with his career.

No wonder we get along so well!!! LOL!

I wan to correct some misinformation going about. Some very scary, dangerous misinformation especially as folks use this information to make decisions about vaccination for themselves and their children.

You cannot get the flu from the flu vaccination. The flu vaccination carries dead virus, it cannot reproduce - hence you cannot get the flu from it. However, it takes your body two weeks to build up immunity (aka antibodies) to the flu, so if you had it before the vaccination or got it before your body was able to take advantage of the vaccination, you can still get the flu. And of course, you are only covered for the types of flu covered by the vaccination - the three flu's active in China at the time the American flu vaccinations go into testing, then production. Currently this is the: 2009 H1N1 virus that caused so much illness last season, and two other influenza viruses (an H3N2 virus and an influenza B virus.

Your body gears up to create the antibodies to the dead flu virus post- vaccination and this may leave you feeling tired and achy, depending on your condition of health, immune system, etc. These symptoms, while distressing and difficult, are nowhere near the level of seriousness of the flu. The flu is a very serious set of diseases that takes several weeks show symptoms, another few weeks to suffer through, then several weeks to recover from. If you recover at all, since many folks have chronic diseases, poor health or vulnerable immune systems that the flu may prove terminal to.

I do not think yogurt is something anyone should ever feed a chicken, it balances on my mind as something we adult humans do not need. Tailfeatherz1 has quoted that yogurt or any milk product in a chicken will cause diareah...these birds were never meant to drink cow's milk, and so do not have the proper intestinal bacteria to digest it.
And...
Your intestines can only create so much lactose,,, and lactose is necessary to digest milk SUGAR: lactose, but often we human adults do not make enough lactose to digest milk sugar= lactose intolerance and ya know why ??? Because you are weaned off the tit, that's why. You are grown up, and should not be drinkin milk...and your body cannot digest it any longer, but for goat's milk..... and so if you drink/eat too much milk, you are gonna get sick, gassey and feel ill for weeks...the older you get the less milk you need, and humans were never meant to drink cow's milk in the first place, AND we were weaned off the tit along time ago...when we we were kids, and then our intestines stop producing lactase, the ingredient necessary to break down MILK SUGAR:::LACTOSE but in this, most people do not realize that what is allergic in Cow's milk is :::their protein,(Casein) not the sugar, lactose. Lactose is coew's milk Sugar...not the protein.
The best milk you could ever have, that will agree with even the most sensitive...is Raw goat's milk.

The beautiful little freindly animals produce milk that is elimentally like human milk, and it is incorporated, where we spin cow's milk for cream ?
Goat milk is incorporated, and does not seperate..and it is a treat beyong discription: so creamy and good !!!!!!!!!!! and even I with all my allergies can chug down a frosty gallon jug of fresh goats milk...and have zero intestinal problems........YUM and takes care of my 1000 mgs a day of calcium I have to deal with.....I LOVE GOATS MILK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The crap in the cans you get in grocery stores is exactly that, OK but suffers the caning proceedure, nothing is like fresh........... and I have been told goats milk is almost identical to human milk and is good for babies too....... any one have comment there ?
I LOVE IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Creamy and heavy on the tongue, as if you mix a pint of cow's milk and a pint of heavy cow's milk cream;;;heavy whipping cream.... that is how goats milk is...it does not seperate.
With cow's milk, you milk the cow and let the pail sit..and the cream will go to the top...with goats milk, the cream is incorporated and is so creamy good...Illia can describe more::::
