OK I need some ideas of what may have happened. I have 2 inch poultry wire over my banty run. The wire is normally about 3' off the ground. But when we got home from town today the wire was about a foot off the ground. The wire had a large depression about 2' across and in that there were 2 deeper indents about the size of a tennis ball. There was also a basket ball size hole off to the side of the depression. All the banties are there and seem fine.
I have my suspisions what did this but am looking for other ideas what it might be.

I myself am living on disability, and building this new frm is all emcompassing every cent I have..DH is on disability as well, together we bring in an awesome net at about $1200 a month...less than 1 of my "old" paychecks....Social security sucks................When we sell a few, that is how we suppliment our income.

I don't see how a dog could do it as it is on the "roof" and in about 4' from any sides. Neighbor kids well that is possible but they know better than to mess with my stuff cause I like to target practice with my paint ball gun. And they know it hurts !!!!!

going to be a close call tonight.
they finished counting in chelan county for the night, only 2,200 left to be finished in the morning.

I wonder if chickens have a secret government. or is it just who pecks the hardest?

cos i have a flock of 75.... and if their brains are that good to remember where everyone is in the pecking order well its just really interesting.

pips&peeps :

I bet we're gonna have another recount year...............

They already said that both sides have their lawyers already hired to review everything if it is a close finish.....well as of this morning it is showing a 50/50% on you know who and you know who.... That will be of course recounted.

I know it hurts, we used to have shootouts..fun, but painful.

I agree, doesn't sound like dogs to me either, from what I am reading now (what you are describing). Could a basketball have (accidentally) been thrown onto it? Other than that....I agree with census...bird from above, but I would not know.

Was there any feather (other then chickens) or fur? Could of been a hawk, fox or big dog.h
Chicken wire only keeps your chickens in, it only slows hawks and foxes. Uses your chicken wire and 2x4 welded wired.
Our LGD can easily get over a 4' fence, getting on top of 3' high something would be a breeze and she is still a pup. Our Border Collies can easily get on something 3' tall.
