I printed off 10 pages of the winter brisk poster...and gave one to Scott...he is now thinking of contacting them to set up a venders display...and show some of his birds!
I also hung winter brisk posters at 2 feed stores in Montesano, and one at Olympia, and a few in Chehalis that had no idea it was happening...and when I got home I printed out 10 more posters and I will tack them up tomorrow...Winter Brisk YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!

So speaking of Winter Brisk - since I am a newbie with no coop or chicks yet, I thought it might be a good idea to attend, make some connections and get more information. Are any of you planning to be there? I won't be able to attend on Saturday as I'm hosting a Holiday Open House and Food Drive at our family winery. Will there still be anything going on Sunday so it would be worth the drive? I was really hoping if I start hanging around I'll learn something! (In addition to lurking here, reading all the books, perusing websites, etc.) I'm afraid I'm an addict before I've even acquired my first bird...

That makes a total of 3 fertile eggs, and I think I'm gonna cull the others tonight. I've only got one dozen eggs waiting to be put in the bator, but hopefully I'll have plenty more by tomorrow or the next day.

Congrats! This is great news as I've got a serious jones for a few of your gorgeous girls come spring if you'd be willing to part with some!

I need good weather so those guys can start building my coop!

**I'm still on the hunt for a 20-25' cargo container if anyone knows one that is for sale. I hate the large cargo stores that go around buying containers from people and etc then turn round and sell them for 2-3 times the price after a paint job hmm

I saw some cargo containers when I was looking under "sheds" on craigslist. I was thinking someone might have a nice priced shed I could convert for my coop. I don't know if they're anything you'd be looking for, they may be outrageously priced.

most of the CL listings are from the large cargo stores.. but there are a few that people sell you just have to catch them before the cargo store does. They buy it then clean and paint it then sell for 2x or 3x the price

Guineas are yummy, all dark meat, in fact, in high priced restaurants, when you order game bird, you get guineas.
They are dark meat, tender and duck-like in that they are a very moist meat.
They are also fun to raise, a curiosity, and they have priceless feathers.
Raising and selling eggs can be fruitfull.
A bird in the freezer is good, too, mini geese!

Winter Brisk is December 4th & 5th
you can learn more by going on line and checking out the website at www.washingtonfeatherfanciers.webs.com
There will be auctions and bird sales, and door prizes, raffles, a dinner, and lots of club meetings for those who want to sit in with or ask questions of a particular club.
It is going to be awesome !!!!!!!!!!
I was going to enter my trio RIW cockeral (MOT) and his 2 perfect pullets...but they are green splash RIWs since they helped me paint the coop the other day
