No not really but the buses can take twice as long to get from A to B due to road conditions

One of my drakes will be visiting my Thanksgiving table. Too many boys. Last year we had fresh goose for Thanksgiving and Christmas, it was wonderful.

We had rooster dumpling soup the other day.... maybe I should have saved him to stuff inside the turkey for T-day

Oh well for Christmas I think I'm gonna try and have a quail inside a chicken inside a turkey! (turkey will have to be purchased.)

just visited my chickens....... dangit! another one of my acona's are killed.... i found it frozen. beheaded, and its insides eaten out..... coon or skunk??? either way i want it dead. i found one seabright, so they are not all dead... only 2/3...looks like the hen is the last one living...

so i have 2 chicken coops... and one is unoccupied... i have 25 chickens that still roost in the trees... would they eventually be smart enough to move in or do me and my bf have to catch them and clip one wing each??

-sigh- so even though most of my acona's have died, thanks to those chicks i will have replacements..... -sigh- going to put tuna in the traps tomorrow... and no more free ranging for them.... even though they can fly out and the one that was killed was 10 feet from the coop, within the pen....

i wonder why the predator is getting only the acona's and not the other breeds???

Oh my that is terrible !
Hope you catch the critter.
I caught a racoon 2 days ago and killed 3 more rats in the last week.

Gotta bone them all and shove one in the other...o so succulent ! Yummmmm !

either that of have a go and hope its not to big a mess!

Maybe instructions on line, but if you bone out the chicken breast and thighs, and same with duck, half it open (butterfly again so it is thinner but bigger, and roll the chicken up inside the duck meat, then put inside the turkey, it is easier than it sounds.
I will warn you though, a young duck is expensive to buy!!!!! Very exoensive !
Dressed young rabbit is going for $15 a pound, I think duck is about the same.
I bought a young duck a few years ago and it was tough and had little flavor, must have been a farm bird not allowed to free range I guess.
I hear if you are to butcher them about a week earlier you can start them on some gamey feed regimen, like add a bit of sage leaves and such to their feed so the meat has more gamey flavor..but have never raised ducks.
I plan on it next spring, and a few turkeys.
I hatched turkeys out last year and sold them all..we had no shelter then for big birds.
Next year I hope we do, and I hope we also have our well and a house!!

Goodnight all...
