oh. my. goodness! I can't believe how fast this board moves. I wasn't able to catch up till today, and the last time I read anything was the day before Thanksgiving!!!

Rainwolf--hope all your babies have hatched-- I may have missed the post that updated everyone..

Cowgirlgrace-- I LOVE LOVE LOVE your MFC!! I am also trying to get going--but have had some 'challenges'.. I have a beautiful Rooster -- he is on my blog

I need a good henny for him. If you or Heather have an extra one hanging around I could probably provide a good coop and feather-man for her! *wink*

ByNatureFarms, I DID see your suggestion about the nipple waterers for the chickens--I don't think long term that is good for ducks, they need to be able to get their faces into the water itself to keep their faces washed. Thank you for the thought though!!

A huge welcome to the new folks too.

Hope to run into some people this weekend at the show..

ReiMiraa - He's a Marans, so actually crossing him to your Easter Eggers will create Olive Eggers.

(The offspring will lay BEAUTIFUL rich olive green eggs) Crossing him to any brown egg layer will make speckled and terra-cotta egg layers.

cheryl98117 - Congrats!!!

Well, I went outside to drop the pop door and this is how our backyard looks. The rabbit was actually out in her run (out of the cage) playing in the snow. Yes, she has her own run and large cage.
Snow:

and yet more snow:

Here is black bunny in her run - she is playing in the snow and yes she can get into her cage, which is stuffed with hay for her to tunnel in. Also, she has somehow figured out how to get onto the top of her cage, which does have some hay for her to cuddle in - but not as good as her cage. Oh, and that is Pica in her winter coat on the outside of the fence.

Okay, I've had enough of snow.

Jen, what will you be showing? Will your seramas be there for me to see?

I had planned to go on Saturday, but one of our cars got vandalized last week in the snow. It's a convertible beetle, and some idiot took a hammer to the windshield and the back window. Both were destroyed. The back window, being in the convertable top, requires a whole new top to be installed. We just got the estimate today and won't get the car back until next week! This may throw a kink into my plans to visit the show!!!!

Still trying to work out issues with the kids schedules this weekend to make it happen, but now I'm not so sure.

I am so sorry for the damage on your car. I just don't understand people...they have nothing better to do than destroy the properrty of people who have worked hard for this property. I just don't get it.

Thanks ladies. Thank goodness for insurance. We still have to cough up the $500 deductable and deal with the inconvenience of only having one car. We learned our insurance policy doesn't cover a rental which really sucks trying to get the kids to all their activities while the DH has to get back and forth to work.

Illia, sorry about your Ameraucana. Hope he's going to be ok. I've tried the roo pen thing for the winter and it never works out. There is always fighting. Other people says it works out fine for them but I gave up and let them stay with their girls for the winter. Just trying to give the girls a break but can't lose a roo either. Love the Wheaton. Gorgeous.
