We just started getting snails for the first time last summer.

Darn things!!! They must have come in on a nursery plant. But the good news is the chooks love LOVE the snails! It's really funny to watch my adults fight over them.

Patient DW or DH the key is to know when enough is enough, after almost 30 years together we both have learned that. Last year he built me a greenhouse, this year a chicken coop....enough to keep me busy...but there is always next year and a new project to talk him into.

Hey are slugs an okay thing to toss in the run? I have done that a few times and they were quickly snatched up....this morning I caught about a cupful attacking my hostas, scraped them into a container and tossed them to the girls, but then I wondered about choking on them, a few were fairly good sized. Go ahead laugh at me...just checking

I toss slugs and snails in the run too. The ducks eat most of them. The little ones the chickens will eat, but the larger ones they just peck to death. Sure they may not eat them, but they still have fun killing them, gets the job done.

Is there anyone near Kent that just hatched some chicks? I had just one of mine hatch and I feel so sorry for the little guy all by itself.

I saw a utube of a chicken eating a mouse! I don't think they choke that easy!

There's a guy down the street from me who sells EE's for $2 unsexed. I bought some a couple of weeks ago. He has an ad on Craigslist.

I live between Eatonville and Graham, South of Tacoma and Puyallup.

About the DH thing, we have been married for 47 years now. He has learned to let me do what I want to do, but he doesn't help me. That is why this 66 year old grandmother and great grandmother is still healthy and strong.

I just built my own coop and fenced my chicken yard. That was last month and already I think I have outgrown my coop. Yup, 26 chicks are going to grow into 26 big chickens real soon. I already have plans in my head to remodel the old goat barn into a chicken coop.

Does anyone know if you can put goats and chickens in the same space??? Just a thought.

Chicken food is not good for goats, it can be toxic because goats will bloat from eating it. My wether just about died from eating our chicken food. I was letting him in the coop before I knew any better. I have a nice big fat vet bill to prove it.

You should visit us over at http://www.backyardherds.com/forum/ for your goat questions
