RFF.
So I'm looking for another job but with this economy and with our very small town, the options are limited...especially for a 36+ hour per week job that I would be making close to $15 per hour for like I am now

I know opportunities are limited over there and small business start up even harder.
That being said, look at this time as a door opening instead of your life crashing down.
Think about what you do well.
Explore the possibility of starting your own business.

Do you enjoy serving others?
My wife has been doing care giving for around 5 years now maybe more.
A good caregiver over here who has the right training can make $25.00 an hour working for themselves.
You may have to take less over there but it's a good job with many perks after you make a name for yourself.

If you get into care giving pay your dues.
Get all the training. Become a NA.
Work for others for a few years then go out on your own.

Insurance, business license cost, etc.
Not bad at all compared to a lot of businesses.

When I look back at my life and my Wife's I see that every time we had what first we thought as a disaster after we refocused with God's guidance turning it into better life for us.

Takes a younger mind.

Oh PA LEEEEEZEEEE is there anyone here with a younger mind that remembers the stuff that happened in the depression

Funny how all this moves...
What it takes in this case is an older mind...

I have been in the IT field since 1997 mainly web design and web applications, but I also know databases, networking and computer repair and support.
I guess we are doing it Bass ackward, first we will find the a place to live them I will find the job.

That's a problem with this county = no jobs.

Even qualified people = no jobs. If you have any college you're probably over-qualified for 99% of the jobs here...it's sad...

Heather: Think about what there is here for people to do for work? Not much. Look at Okanogan, itself. How many empty store fronts. There is a letter to the editor in this week's paper regarding this very subject. Okanogan has no grocery store or pharmacy. Good fields: County, state, city, medical. Even these are scary to be in. I totally understand your fears.

And of course, I just so happen to find it in the middle of the night, when I've gotta sleep before I can run out and get some photos of my new "velociraptors."

I want to go, too, but hubby has a MRSA infection on his leg and has to go in for IV antibiotics every twelve hours.

Im afraid of the MRSA thing. Hope that I never get it or that anyone gets it really.

If they dropped this thread then my post count would drstically go down for sure.

Add ADHD into the mix and you have me.

This is my problem as well...and who wants to hire a 56 year old woman that knows so much ?
No one.

They will hire a cutey though....
Despite my dental and surgical knowledge, no offices want to hire me...I am not so cute anymore...But I do have a sense of humor, and an artistic talent and I intend to work that to the max: my favorite is sandwich signs...with very pleasing paintings on them...
