I guess we had it the opposite. . .

The coop and the nesting box still need desparate help, but the goat's barn had a LOT of work done on it. . .

Ditto the the rain though. So glad we had a "day off" with the rain, some time to actually work outside. . .

It's a Tissue Moth, aka Triphosa haesitata. They're the most commonly found species at this time of year, and also are the most long-lived species, as they usually hide in sheds, barns, etc to hibernate for the winter.

It is the same one as this that I posted earlier:

They look very similar.. can tissue moths get that red color? your photo is not really red like the one I photographed.

The redness often shows up better in real life, yes. In photos it usually turns out more of a brown color. One thing to consider is that the color of a moth, same with butterflies, is a composite of thousands of glossy little scales. Those scales can appear red in one light, and brown in another.

And, with moths, it in most cases isn't really the shade/hue, it is the markings. The exact patterning. What is where. Especially when dealing with poor versus good specimens. (By that I mean some are perfect looking and some had a harsh life, which causes their scales to wear off)

Well, to make a long story short, I have two sons and a hubby and it's a whole lot easier to deal with 2 boys than 3. I can deal with my sons better with hubby gone anyway. The AWOL son came in at 6:30 am as we were leaving for the airporter. DH was still home. I deal with stuff either way. Mine snores too, I'll be able to get more sleep and sleep in the bed instead of the couch. Ah, a nice quiet comfy bed with a down comforter. Pure heaven. I can also cook what I like. I am having, from the winter garden, cabbage, brussel sprouts and beets for dinner. Hubby hates all those. So a dinner I love with no guilt. Oh, and I can spend all the time I want on the computer!

Oh I am so jealouse!!!
Wish I could come chat and do a sleep over ! I would LOVE your couch !!!
Our cabin is so small that there is no where to go to escape the trombone and chain saw snoring...and my favorite: the big bear snort in the ear !
I cannot tell you how many time the bear snort in the ear (especially when it is soooo quiet) launches me outta bed as if electrocuted !!! Heart pounding...one night I will have a heart attack !
I am officially going to stop building coops (until next spring for the Javas) and build myself that "Hobbit House" I talked about last spring, for guests (or me!)...just little place maybe 8 X 8...looking for plans ideas....I LOVE BEETS TOO!!!!!!!!

I would like to see your Hobbit House when your done but if it is only 8x8 your DH might think its a bear den.
