If you are interested I have a good mechanic in Monroe at $40.00 an hour which is more then half from regular shop rate in these parts.
He doesn't have employees nor huge overhead working out of his garage.

Taking a vehicle to a dealer you might as well stop off at the bank for a loan on the way there.

Dealers don't make money selling cars.
The $$$$ for them is when people bring their cars back to them.

Thanks!

We do have a good, inexpensive repair guy in North Bend but he said that VW uses some computerized parts that take special diagnostic equipment that he does not have because of the cost of the equipment. But if I can get the name, I can have Don call your mechanic. Maybe he might have the needed equipment. Our mechanic said it is something done intentionally by VW and other manufacturers to force you to go to the dealer. My fear is that Don will come home with a whole new car if he goes to the dealer .... anything he can run on biodiesel. DS who is now 6' tall is also complaining about having to sit in the back seat of the bug; but I think he will have that issue in any car. Gives DH another excuse to look at cars, but I need to keep him as far away as possible. Can't really afford a new car.

Oh, that's easy - his name is "Phoenix"...my son named him after the Phoenix in Harry Potter!

Contact Paul Weis...he breeds AWESOME Chanteclers (he's a judge, too, I think he did the Monroe show last spring?)

I believe he only has bantams right now.

Actually, the size wouldn't be too far off - this guy's a monster! Don't think I wanna deal with the comb thing though!

RIWs are rose comb, silly !

and no he is not a monster, I saw him, I talked to you, I watched your son carry him around (or someone's kid) and he is not a monster....He is medium.

It's not until you hold him that you realize that his size is deceptive. The breed must be very clsoe feathered, as he is far heavier than he looks. I was admiring him and asked Tim how heavy he was, and I held him. He's a very 'meaty' bird.
