I started putting a harness on my kids after my ex lost our then two year old at Southcenter. I didn't care what it looked like. I wasn't going through that again.

You need one of those kiddie harnesses and you can tie her (DD) to a tree

seriously!
You could also maybe get a playpen or alike a dog kennel, put down a piece of plywood or carpet and toys and shut her in there to play where you can see her and she can see you...would that work ?
I used a playpen with mine and then tied a blanket on top cuz my DD would escape lickity split and be in the creek faster than I could grab her.
I used to clothes pin the blanket on top, gave her safety and shade and I could get yardwork done.
Worked great.
I used a harness on DS..he would haul fanny right out into traffic !
Trying to push a stroller with DD and hold DS was a nightmare...so I got a kiddie halter and tied it to the stroller so he could not run off...he was bad about that, most little kids freak if their parents are gone from their sight...not my son, he was in heaven if we were out of sight, he was into eveything and was so hard to catch sometimes without leaving the stroller to run after him...I believe he did it for the attention so his sister would not have the attention...brat!
I saw a couple at a store not too long ago with a toddler on a kiddie harness that looked like he had a stuffed animal cat on his back hugging him, very cute and very smart!
Especially when the stores are crowded and it is so easy to loose a kid in a store right now...

Yep. When a really dark egg layer gets a thick coating of blume on her egg, it makes the egg turn a beautiful lavender or plum purple coloring. Trouble is, this doesn't happen too often and breeding for it is even harder.

However, I do have some Araucanas who lay a constant layer of blume on their eggs, and when crossing them with the Marans, it will produce some constant blume-layers, with a small percent chance of some single combed offspring. (thus, they'll lay dark brown eggs with a blume; lavender/purple eggs)

Even the Olive Egger eggs with a blume will have a very different coloring.

I have an EE hen that with her blume her eggs look very pink, so I've got her in with the Ameraucanas to try to get chicks that will have that pink blume on blue/green eggs to try to get some purple eggers. She also consistantly has calcium deposits on her eggs, so they have white speckles too!

I'll tell ya now, you won't get "purple" eggers.

Here's an ideal conversion of blume on eggs -

Blume + Green = pale blue-green

Blume + Blue-Green = pale or rich blue

Blume + Olive Green = dark slate blue

Blume + Brown = pink

Blume + moderately dark brown = dark pink to plum colored

Blume + dark brown/red = lavender/purple

Oh fine, just shoot me down! LOL JK...ah well, pretty EEs anyway!

Would never intend to shoot you down, just letting you know before you get disappointed or let down.

You'll still get neat eggs though.

Well, just for the record, I don't sleep in the dirty ones either! I take my showers at night.

I do clean the coops in my regular clothes though.

I love my auto waterer. Unless it's freezing out it is something that I don't have to worry about.
I just wish I had auto water for the finches now.
