Walp, I finally got caught all up in reading the posts. I enjoy reading everyone so much.
I hope we all have the warmest grooviest happiest Christmas ever.
I am getting the whole day off. I take care of my 84 yr old MaMa that has Alzheimer's 24 / 7. Tomorrow I have a sitter for her so I get to go spend the day with my kids and grandkids. I am so happy and excited, I can tell you.
And now, I think I will go see about having some Sugar Plums dance in my head.
Good night all, and hope the presents tomorrow will be just what you wanted.

Wow, thats sad. We had a vet around here that hurt a lot of peoples horses. He got sued then went into small animal practice. Don't know where he is now. We are really lucky we have a great vet 5 minutes from our house. He's primarily equine but I've seen people haul llamas and goats to his place. He'll take care of routine stuff for our dogs too. He's very smart and stays on top of the latest stuff. He will also let me mow his place to work off a vet bill and now my son works for him so he gets some perks too. I don't know what I would do if he wasn't there. It gives me peace of mind knowing I can call him for anything. I've called him in the wee hours of the morning when a horse has been in labor a few times. He just laughs, calms me down and then walks me through it over the phone. He tells me to just help her a little to get the foal past that difficult spot and I keep insisting that there must be a leg stuck, what if I rip her open? He just says there is no leg stuck, everything is fine, its just a big foal. So I pull down like he says and it pops right out. He's always right! How does he know that for sure everytime over the phone? Anyway, I'm rambling and there is probably no one out there. Hey it's Christmas Day! Merry Christmas everyone! Have a great day with friends and family.

Merry, Merry Christmas everyone! I'm off to bed in a few minutes, I hope.

DD just came down the stairs all rosy with fever, 102. She's begging to open gifts; just missed seeing Santa deliver them. I told her it would be cruel to open gifts without her brother, so she offered to wake him:barnie She's currently sorting the gifts into piles and wants to wait on the couch until daybreak ... (I'm thinking about letting her open just 1 present ... the one that contains the underwear, or maybe the socks

Trying to get her off to bed. She's very congested, so I made her more Breathe Easy tea. Always nervous when she gets sick as she has severe antibiotic allergies and asthma. Pediatrician gave me Tamiflu for her when DS was diagnosed with piggy flu Sep 09, I refused to give it prophylactically. He told me to keep around because he's afraid of not being able to treat her should she get pneumonia, but I refused to give it to her, even when she got piggy flu (suspected) last Christmas. With her luck, she'd be one of the kids who suffers seizures on it.

Good - she's decided to go back to bed, feeling a little better with the tea. I think she's just run down ...

Goodnight.

Good Morning AND MERRY CHRISTMAS everybody.
Well I just got done preparing the goodies that will go in omletts for breakfast. While I was doing this I thought that maybe I would share a few ideas. I am sure that in these times I am not the only one looking for ways to save a few cents where ever possible. So here are some of my things. In my omletts today I am putting ham, onion, bell pepper, olives, mushrooms and cheese who knows I may decide to throw in a little dab of pineapple too ( I call this my pizza omlett). So to save a few cents (ya know it all adds up) I buy whole olives and whole mushrooms then I use an egg slicer to slice them. This makes it fast and easy with nice uniform slices. You do have to be careful with the mushrooms because if they start getting a little old they will get tough and not slice as well. If you don't have an egg slicer you can use a fork and just stick it in the stem side of the shroom then with yer knife slice between the tines of the fork. Both of these methods may also also help to save yer digits from becoming igits. When I get DW up at 8 I will peel the spuds (boiled last night) and shred for hash browns. Then all I gotta do is go squeaze a few chickens fer some eggs.
Yes I am a good good kitchen grump

On a different note Friday I talked to a local guy who started the RIR banties in our area (and ours actually came from his line). When I told him about the ones we got at the show......... boy did he chew me out. He said you stay away from that guy (joking of course as they are friends). He told me if ya need any more just come see me I will give them to ya. He also told me you need a roo when do ya want me to bring ya one. I told him I have to build another pen first. He said well you hurry and get that pen built I am gonna bring ya 3 more hens and a roo.

Merry Christmas to all!
We're relaxing this morning after hosting a small party last night.

Yum... Coffee!

CR- Yes, no eggs x 2wk after dosing with Ivermectin. Can go to your dog- if there's any systemic absorption it will provide a dewormer for him too. Of course we don't have any eggs so we really should treat our girls now. But you know the moment you treat they'll start laying again
