CR - You DO have the most awesome neighbors!!!
We had some great neighbors when we lived near Woodinville. In the summers, we'd take turns cooking dinner, and then all eat at each others homes. Only had to cook 2 dinners a week - Wednesdays for the neighbor exchange and then Sundays for DH and I.
Election time got a little interesting though - we were the only liberals on a dead end street so they would all point their GOP signs to our house, but I had a friend help me out one evening .... covered all their "Dole Kemp" stickers with "Roll Hemp!" Looked just the same ... took them days to notice!
Most of us don't live there anymore, but we all still get together for a camping trip in the summer, and many stop and visit when the go to the pass for skiing.
Neighbors here are nice too, but aloof. I'm deciding we got to make better friends with DD's friends parents. They are from Italy, and brought us the most wonderful holiday cookies. Their family has a little bakery somewhere in Italy, already for many generations, and it is famous for these little cookies that they bake every Christmas. Most delicious ones I've ever had, very rich and moist. I though dark chocolate and molasses. She won't tell me all what is in them but siad there is no chocolate or molasses, but there are dates and cherries and other fruits and nuts. Yum! I got a BIG tin of them! Like old Boyscout Popcorn BIG Tin.
