Greg that is a great story every time I read it. While it is sad the part about the shoes brings back memories of when I was a kid. We had this family that was of Polish desent, and I don't mean that bad that is just where they were from. In the winter when we were all out playing in the snow those kids would take thier shoes off and just put bread sacks on thier feet. We all thought it was funny. I don't know why they did this and it never dawned on me at the time that maybe they had to do that to save thier other shoes.

Well gotta get ready to go to DW's brothers house.

They only reason I go is for DW. I just pretty much find a quiet spot to stay out of the way. They don't really like me cause don't conform to thier standards, I don't hunt (any more) I am not a sport nut and don't have a high dollar job and fancy house. Well they can just get over it. I am me and thats all I will eve be !!!!
Hoping ya are all having a good one and I will be back in a couple hours.

BTW our Silky really took the threat serious !!!! She just started laying and has layed 5 days in a row. She is just an egg layin machine.

What a Merry Christmas it is!

I have my 90 year old Papa on the couch and we are watching the all day Shirley Temple movie marathon! I have a pork roast in the oven for dinner. YUMMO!!

It was pretty empty under our tree this year but it has still been wonderful!

Hope everyone is having a relaxing joyous day!

Wow, thats sad. We had a vet around here that hurt a lot of peoples horses. He got sued then went into small animal practice. Don't know where he is now. We are really lucky we have a great vet 5 minutes from our house. He's primarily equine but I've seen people haul llamas and goats to his place. He'll take care of routine stuff for our dogs too. He's very smart and stays on top of the latest stuff. He will also let me mow his place to work off a vet bill and now my son works for him so he gets some perks too. I don't know what I would do if he wasn't there. It gives me peace of mind knowing I can call him for anything. I've called him in the wee hours of the morning when a horse has been in labor a few times. He just laughs, calms me down and then walks me through it over the phone. He tells me to just help her a little to get the foal past that difficult spot and I keep insisting that there must be a leg stuck, what if I rip her open? He just says there is no leg stuck, everything is fine, its just a big foal. So I pull down like he says and it pops right out. He's always right! How does he know that for sure everytime over the phone? Anyway, I'm rambling and there is probably no one out there. Hey it's Christmas Day! Merry Christmas everyone! Have a great day with friends and family.

Could you please PM me the name of this Vet? If you still have it. I would greatly appreciate it!

Happy Holidays!

My dog and I walked into a few vet hospitals we went to around the globe and she put on all 4 brakes and REFUSED to go in. I learned to respect her decision and took her elsewhere.
But if I had a goat/dog/cat/child/ dying obviously...I would do whatever I could to save the animal...if it meant at last resort that I had to go to some NEW vet with "no large animal experience" then so be it ! What the heck ! Brand new out of vet school do you think you know more ?????What do you have to loose ???
I am appalled, but not surprised that you would not even get a test done. The animal probably had no worming or vaccines either, you have made it clear to us that you hate vaccines.....
And that goes without saying.
End of lovely discussion. I hurt for the baby goat.
And I hurt for any more, baby goats, not cared for by a trained vet.
When an animal is sick to the point that you have no idea what to do...take it to the vet or admit it is not worth it...and if it is not worth it, then why are we all crying about it ?
Why did you even post it ?
