And I respond back with, why does my head need to be bitten off?

All I'm saying is, you're quite upset tonight. The Heritage Thread though, really, is just by nature prone to get a bunch of arguments. Same for things like the Wyandotte and Marans thread. All I'm saying is, I hope it passes/gets better. I understand quite a bit of what you're going through with the well, but if you're feeling great then why are you 1) so mad at me for just trying to be helpful and 2) making a big deal about it in another post?

Oh normally I'm cooking at 66-67 degrees... But I worked outside today, got soaked to the bone, and had to keep right on working. Such is life when you have out door critters.

On a funnier though more gross note. I almost face planted in the manure pile this afternoon...

The bottom of that hill is slipery and muddy, for the first 6 feet of incline... Got a running start with a full load, made it three steps up the hill and hit mud. Wound up catching myself on the wheelbarrow. I thought it was funny, and was OH so glad I was alone.

Yep thats right, I get to push loads of manure up a hill! Yeay for me! I can't wait until they bring a tractor out to push it all back farther up the hill...

Crap I have the hardest time, then I have to haul water in a 5 gallon bucket and heat it on the gas stove, and ladel it over my head...hard work when you are already exhausted nd did I say OLD!!!!!!!!

And so when is the tractor coming ???

Oh no... lol This hill isnt at my place, its at my clients barn. And its farely steep just not super long. About 50 feet in length is my path. Its just steepest at the bottom and muddy there as well. And the tractor will be coming when the ground dries out. So some time in late spring...

I think our crows have started laying but I tell ya what if it is them they are putin out some huge eggs for just starting. We have a couple that are so big the carton bareley closes on em.

Sounds like double yolkers.

In my experience, both BC Marans and BBS Ameraucanas usually start out a little bigger than other pullets though, so an OE from such parents would also make sense to have slightly bigger pullet eggs, but BIG eggs are double yolkers.

Ive learned that sometimes its just better to duck your head and stay outta the way.

Well lately I have had to deal with enough hate and discontent locally so what the hay may as well stay on a roll !!!!!

I'm sure I will be ok. I'm just warn out from the holiday. We hosted brunch and dinner here at my place on Christmass day, I still havn't gotten my house picked up all the way yet. I just havnt had the energy. All I have been able to acomplish today is fixing the fence, doing a load of work clothes for my Dh and some dishes. The rest of the day I have been curled up on the couch. Oh and I went to work today... But that doesnt count, because working acomplished nothing at home. lol

Your a sassy gal, and I love ya!

Well Illia I know you have a lot more knowledge than I BUT I would disagree about big eggs are doubles. We have had some that there was no way you could close the carton but they were not doubles. What I have noticed with ours is that if the egg is very long but not fat those tend to be doubles more often.
