I don't know what part of the town he lives in. The only states I have not been to west of the Mississippi is Washington and Oregon. Going to change that soon.

I read somewhere that they should be baked to prevent bacteria from growing in the wet shells.

I give our chickens egg shells all the time even one from the incubator, hatch and unhatched. I have never baked them.

OK saw that the midget white turkeys are on the critical list with the ALBC....so maybe you all should get some, I will look into it myself.
I feel better. Dh has reported that he got passed the shut off, the installation, and the sign off and called at 5 to say he was sitting in the dark, in the van, engine running and soaked to the skin (he left all his rain gear here !) and had the heater torqued as he is freezing,,,waiting for the PG&E guy to show up, climb the pole and turn the power back on..he rented a generator to keep their frdge going and a few lights and the monitor heater, so he has to return the generator tomorrow, load up stuff (every load we bring some stuff and pretty soon we will actually live here !!!

)
Saves renting a monster fright truck man they are expensive...but with DH's 6 roll away tool boxes FULL and engine stands and creepers and cherry pickers...floor jacks and all sorts of heavy, heavy stuff, we may hafta rent a big frieght truck and the fuel will kill us...so bringing as much as possible each trip is best, even if we have no where to put it !!

it is like a storage unit in here already.

One of the baies, a Black Java Cockeral I have named Jazz...is picking on the others, so he is in isolation in a rabbit cage, and he is on a shelf outside in the hatching room (very nice and warm) but he can see me in here and keeps crying and purring...such a cute sound. Have you all heard a chicken purr ? Kinda like a cross between a dove and a cat...
Well, DH will maybe get sick now, all wet poor guy!
Looks like it is going to get cold and snow so he better get up here or he will have to waite a while.
T ****I would love to have you stop by!
Don't know about my flu...and it is yucky out and it is supposed to get worse.
Can't you go road trip now before the snow hits ?

My sister used to work in the Forest Service in Ca. it's a small world.
