I wish I could have been there; hopefully next time! I was at the middle school with DS for a social event they had for kids on the honor roll ... figured this may be the only one we get to go to as he is currently failing science for not turning in his assignments (it was his low grade last term as well, but he had an A- then!).
I just got a job! Pays less than I earned while working my way through college 25+ years ago, but it is in town, seasonal, good hours, I know and like the people I will be working with, should pay for the chicken coop and greenhouse I will be building, and next year I should be able to earn commissions. DH calls it my McCPA.
I informed my client two weeks ago that we are low on feed and hay!!! She just now tells me that she is ordering more today... I have enough hay in their barn for tonight, and enough grain to last until tomorrow, been out of the supplements for four days! And she is JUST NOW placing the order??? She is SO very lucky that I have hay put up in the shed, and that I am willing to loan her some!
Ok so today I have
1 splash BBS Maran chick (yellow colored chick)
3 Blue BBS Maran chicks (grayish colored chicks)
1 Black BBS Maran chick (the one in the photo)
and 1 more egg piped and waiting!
Now to make another brooder... or introduce them to the chicks from new years... I think new brooder...

It really drives me nutts because I give them no less than two weeks notice that I will need feed. Things would be so much easier if they would just open an account for their barn at the feed store. If I didn't have to go through them to get feed, this would never happen. And I feel horible for one of the horses, as without her supplements she gets very stiff and sore. "Ellie is 35 years old, and still being ridden." Then they had the bright idea last week, to have the farrier remove all four shoes, off the one horse that needs them the most. I love these people, dont get me wrong. But I wish they would take advantage of the 20 years of experience and knowledge that I offer them. Apposed to going off their four years of experience. Heck even they're "Trainer" has less experience than I do...
Sorry about my rant, they are great people with very little common sense.
