Thank you I should have known. Maybe Utasol and I can hook up in April in Stevenson. DH said that he would consider going with me. We have friends in Carson, and they have been after us to come visit.

Speaking of meeting up at future shows, who's coming to the Cascade Show in Monroe on March 19th? Website with info: http://washingtonfeatherfanciers.webs.com/

The
site isn't loading for me today. I know I checked it earlier this week and they said they would be updating it and to check back in Feb.

We will definently be going. We need to figure out who's going to show what amongst the girls and I.

This exact thing is why I'm hoping my DH gets home soon. The foundation at the barn that I manage was never sealed/finished, so water seeps in under the framework... I curently gave the hay sand bagged to ceep the seepage off of it. But you just never know. I would hate to loose the bottom of the hay stack to rain.

So much for a day off with no curly haired little monster--- I mean angel running around ???

Oh I gota couple hours of peace. Cleaned up around the house and fed the horses. I got to relax a little bit.

Everything at the barn is fine, the sand bags are doing the job, thankfully. Now if the lady who is buying my dehumidifier would show up already... Then, other than cooking dinner, my day is done.

OH! And not all angels are nice and sweet! Some are or can be monsters.

Cheryl mentioned sealing the barn, and that remind me that I had bought Silicone caulk. So I went out and grabbed the 55 gallon barrel and I got busy sealing the hole that was near the bottom of the barrel. I hope that it works. What I really need is some large tanks with a pump. I find that the garden and especially the planters, and pots of flowers do so much better when watered by rain water. Knowing that makes me wonder about the city water.

When I lived On crown Hill, I wouldn't drink the water. It always tasted funny to me. Same with the Greenwood and Edmonds areas. Ive always had well water. GiessI'm just spoilt.

There was a gentleman who lived here, in Omak. He has since moved back east to be with family as his wife was pretty sick. I believe he raised Cochins (sp) and a couple of breeds that I do not remember. He was a retired pastor and he showed his birds all over the place. His set up was so neat. He also had some ducks (again, don't remember the breed). When you pulled up into his driveway, there was a short little fence - about 3 ft high. Very nice little "pasture" was fenced in. I just thought it was for looks....but he had ducks in there. There was a pond for them, it was beautiful. The pens/houses for his hens/roosters, etc...were spotless clean. Double chainlink fenced. It was a sweet set up. wish I had photos to show you. Oh, ya, his name was Paul Ashbrook, incase any of you might have known him.

Editing to add name.

Well, it was bugging me so I am doing some research to see if I can find Paul Ashbrook....There was an "updated list for 2009" for Master Breeders and he is listed for White Plymouth Rock and White Wyandotte. I am going to see if I can find more on him....but these were the other breeds I did not remember he had.

You oughta try California water !! It tastes alot like something that comes OUT of your washing machine, but with a few tablespoons of baking soda and a few Tablespoons of Bleach in evey 12 OZ glass !!!
It is so bad that the water heater will short out from hard mineral formations in about 6 months unless you have a zinc installed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The toilet forms a nasty crusty ring that has to be scrubbed off with wetsand paper...weekly......I FEEL so much better here just drinking this water. My body feels better. I think living down there for 10 years made me very sick.
I will tell ya what, our rain water is deliscious !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well yeah! Our water is CLEAN!!! Its the chemical treatments that make it icky. Tell you what. Right now I have the BEST tasting well water, crisp, clean, and sweet! I love my water here. This area is filled with artisian springs. "sp?"

I'm feeling a little better today, can you tell?

If I remember what I have read about water in Southern Cal. The water is what is left of the Colorado river before it no longer empties into the ocean. I can't imagine what that water has collected over the distance it travels.

Here in Enumclaw I believe that the city water comes from wells. But it seems that if they supply water, then they have to use chemicals to make sure that it isn't able to support good plant growth. We had well water in the houses in Camas WA. I still really miss the farmhouse.
