Got 2 chicks hatched out and 4 that are pipping.
One of them is a surprise accident though. . . Was supposed to be a Shamo x Marans, turns out the short time I had my Tolbunt Polish cockerel in with the girls, his genes lasted in a few. . . The chick is definitely a Tolbunt Polish cross. It's black with an orange head, has beard/muffs, a little crest, and slate legs with feathers on them. It will be quite a cutie, but nothing of value to me besides for food.

well my diet that was to begin the first of February has been postponed due to all the goodies T-Hi left me to eat ! YUM!!!!!!!

I am also looking for large hen saddles, I need at least 4...and my sewing machine is in California....anyone making hen saddles that cover up the back of the hen's neck ?

Seems that one of our RIR banties is still figuring out the egg laying thing. Yesterday she gave us this little gasious escapement egg.
Here is a pic of it along with one of the other RIR banty eggs.
And here is a pic with the gasious escapement egg in front then one of the crow eggs. Row 3 areall RIR banty and in the back row are 3 big eggs. The pic doesn't show it well but the one in the middle is a pink. Go Gracie !!!!! BO

Finally after being dry for 2.5 months.
Was from our Dominique (I assume, based on the color and that she was in the nest box yesterday for a while without production). Of course, Hallerlake could have felt real bad for us and snuck one of her chicken's eggs in.
