Okay, I admit I may be the dough head here never actually having
been to Forks although it's on my list of places I'd like to see some day.
In my head, I imagine it as somewhat "rural". Whatever that means to an individual is probably subjective.
Well, I guess I view rural as agricultural, but Forks is basically a logging town. It is tiny, spread down HWY 101, and has many roads that go off it and out into the woods towards other homes. I myself live about 13 miles west of Forks, deep in the woods. There is nothing agricultural or "rural" here except the harvesting of timber.
There are chicken owners here and there, but usually just people with a random sex link or two, or people with mutt bantams.
I did do two people some good favors though.
One lady got a rumpless, tufted Araucana cock from me, so next year she's going to have some tufted, rumpless, and green egg laying birds. . . Another lady got my 'ol Easter Egger cock last year, so she'll have some green egg layers, that is of course if her hens go broody or if she decides to buy an incubator. Seriously, she has black sex links and barred rocks. . . . $100 says she'll never see any offspring out of the EE. The thing that bothers me is that before the Easter Egger, I gave away a poor quality blue Ameraucana to her. . . She LOST him less than 12 hours later!!!
