Jen, I would LOVE for you to have the sliding door for your goat barn! The French door is yours too if you want it. Let me know what day works for you!
BTW - I am SO glad your unwanted visitor dogs found their way home. What was the full story? Was the owner apologetic? Grateful to have them back? They were out accidentally, right?

Inquiring minds want to know.

haller--as I already have an In on some other French doors--take that one.

Sadie, I will pick that door up asap. My dad has to send me new plates for Farm Truck, long funny story behind that--but if it's not inconvenient, they should be here by next week--so m/t/wed? any of those days?

BNF~so glad to hear Emma sleeps through the night--isn't that THE BEST?? Have you guys found any property yet??

THE REST OF THE DOG STORY:

Yes, they were out on an Expositition.. the big wolf like dog is just that--a hybrid. (I did not think he walked like your normal House Dog...)

and is very busy pacing (imagine that).. and wears thru his CABLE leash thing because he is in constant motion, so apparently the cable thing breaks periodically from rubbing on the guys brick fire pit?.. must go thru bricks like crazy too. Well.. he and the lil dog --'Jacob and Essie'--if any of you have read Twilight books (sorry Illia! lol) ended up in our yard, chasing my cochins in their coops. They also chased the Seramas in their pen too--I couldn't find one of my hens last night, she had gotten out (which she NEVER does) and was tucked in under a tree. *whew* anyway.. I called both Puyallup and Tacoma animal controls to list them as Found, and then Sumner Animal Hospital and Craigslist too.. well, and a desperate plea on facebook too! lol! And then my phone rang this morning at work, and it was Mr Missing Dog Guy.. hopeful that I still had the dogs.... He was very relieved when I told him YES! So he is supposed to go get them this afternoon. They better be gone when I get home! The little cow dog is very sweet, but she is FAR to interested in chasing the goats and chickens. I don't think any of the flock ate very much yesterday--nor did the goats. All were to freaked out about the dogs. Amazingly enough, the wolf dog was not interested in the animals at all. And was not aggressive to our dog either. He was way to timid though. I have no idea what their real names are.. I just called them Jacob and Essie... haha

Be very-very careful....I know it sounds funny....but deer are very dangerous and kick the snot out of you....and a buck in rut would be just that more agressive. They don't necessarily use their horns. They stomp with their front feet. If you are on FB, go look at some my pictures I posted last summer. We had a doe come into our camp site up in Conconully. I was a basket case as I just knew she was gonna stomp one of us at any time. The kids were frantic as they thought she was going to eat the peach pie (I had just baked) off the picnic table.

my dad's dog just got tumbled last week by a deer--big gouge in her side required sutures and a very bruised rear leg....

NOw that I look at the Calender. Tues. is the 8th SO wed must be the 9th. so it is on Wed the 9th

I haven't anything to swap, but I'd be curious to see what an egg swap looks like for future reference.

For all you paranoid hatchers out there heres a story of hope. I have a Sportsman incubator with three shelves, each holds 2 trays. One shelf had a staggered hatch since after candling I narrowed it down to one tray except for one extra egg which I put in the tray behind it due to hatch 4 days after the front tray and told myself I would remember. Well, airhead that I am I forgot to remove it when I took out his buddys in the front tray of eggs on their 18th day to the hatcher. Tray of Chicks hatched in GQF styro hatchers on the 31st. Today while removing the second tray for lockdown to hatch on the fifth I thought I heard peeping. One egg in the tray had a hole in it then DUH remembered the left behind chick and though it was stuck. It was GONE! well, it had hatched and fallen to the 'hatcher' below. It had been there since the 31st. So this chick was in a turner until the 21st day in 50-55% humidity and still hatched and very healthy. Lived alone in the dark until today. Needless to say it was a very busy and happy chick when he joined his hatchmates. There is hope in the world today!

The eastern side of the Cascades has both mule deer & white tail. The mule deer are more "garbage" deer and live in the drier areas while the white tails are more picky with eating and tend to be in the wetter areas with more green. We have both at our house. We also have elk in the Chiliwist, Ellensburg area and Woodland Caribou over in the Colville area.
