Oh yeah! EGGS! How on earth did I forget eggs?

I'm having one of those days. Huddled up under a blanket, doing my best to stay warm. Just can't seem to get rid of this chill.

Searching through coop posts, trying to figure out how to attach exterior nesting boxes, without having to worry about them sagging, or all together falling off the coop...

I would emagine just screwing them securely into place should be enough to hold them up. Guess I'm just an over thinker and a worrier too... Would 3 nest boxes be enough for a coop built for 8 birds? I so feel like I have NO IDEA what I am doing anymore. lol

I would maybe find a way to brace them. With "L" straps or maybe extend the floor joists out so they can be screwed to that. Just something to give them extra support. Cuz like CR says, if you have a pile-up of most of the birds wanting in at the same time, it could be a lot of weight

OK kids, my second shipment of eggs from Florida arrived, and I took photos this time to show what a fantastic package job this breeder does:

The box, NOTE: The big dent in the outside box!

opening the outside box you see wood shavings...

brush the shavings away you see yet another box...

a soft nest of synthetic quilt stuffing...

each egg individually wrapped so as not to clack together...

an individual egg..
held in my hand to show the wrapping in smaller bubble wrap.

The boxes are free, the stuffing available anywhere
and the shipping remains the same no matter the weight, so why not pack them correctly ?
Fantastic pack job!!!
My other sender that packed poorly will send more eggs, I will pay him and I have sent him these same photos with a note that I am not trying to make him feel foolish or stupid..

What kind of hatching eggs are they? Happy belated bday! And I'm thankful to hear about NO RA!

The only thing I don't like about the pack job above is that the eggs are on their sides...sometimes this will disrupt the air cells too much. I always pack mine fat end up.

It's OK. I haven't done it yet. Been working all day. I haven't even looked at the product yet so maybe there will be something about poultry. Expensive stuff, more than double the price of Ivermectin. $42 for 250 ml. I'll check out the thread too.
