CL, have a fantastic time at your Birthday Party today! Glad you don't have RA... Illia, sorry that your girl didn't survive the attack after all. Sure sounds like she had given her best to get away, but the damage had been done. Must be nice to not have had rain at your place for awhile so you could get so much done.
So, I have some good news and I have some good news - First - after 2 years of unplanned "retirement", our lawsuit with the state has settled and my husband has been offered a new job. He had been a liquor store manager for over 27 years with glowing reviews, then got a district manager who decided he had it out for DH, and made life miserable for him until he forced him out of his job. That was 2 years ago, just as my daughter was graduating from high school and getting ready to start college. So after a lot of negotiating between the state and our fantastic attorneys, the state has offered DH a new full time job with benefits and seniority reinstated. Unfortunately, they won't give him another store locally, (he used to work 5 minutes from home). They are putting him in the distribution warehouse in Seattle and at 63, he'll have to learn to drive a forklift and be doing a lot of heavy work. DH is in great shape though, even 2 months after knee replacement surgery. He just wants to work another 3 years, until our daughter graduates from college and then we can PLAN for retirement instead of having it thrust upon us.
So, the other good news is, since he's returning to work in the next couple of months, that he and his buddy decided to start on my coop so they can get it finished before he starts work again! After looking at all the fantastically well thought out coops we've decided to go with a playhouse styled coop. I have those plans but will need to make some modifications as some things just don't make any sense to me. Why would you want the clean out door on one end of an 8' long coop? Seems a looooong way to reach. Just little things. Hope the guys can follow my changes. So I'm looking at probably a 4X8' coop with an 8 -10' covered pen. Fingers crossed all goes well. They plan to start shopping and building on Tuesday. I asked if they could finish by mid-march. I still have some details to work out, but as soon as they start I'll be posting pics of the progress.
It's a little gloomy out today, but so far it's clear I guess. I'm just craving sun!
Happy Saturday everyone -
