CR see the storm coming at me ???
hide.gif

I was gonna hop in the shower but will pass, I cannot be in the shower in a T-storm that will freak me out!!!
My son used to grab my tin hat and run around in the hail storms in N. Idaho, until I let him know that a lightening could zap him ala "Old Sparky" right on the noggin !!

CR: did you raise hogs ?
I want some black pigs, that frre range.
Seen some feeding in a big field outside Sequim last year, very cool, gentle, lean pigs.

wow, it is getting closer and so black on the bottom..............YIKES!

Earlier it actually had a red square in the storm, which means Funnel clouds...YIKES!!!!!!!!

I think I am going off line now and hiding somewhere !!!!!!!!!!!!
Glad I got a surge protector & a generator!!!!!!

CL just make sure ya get a GOOD hot fencer. And a GOOD DEEP ground rod, I use the 8' galvenized like for your house that way I am sure it is always good. Then when ya make the fence ya can just use those short 3-4-foot push in plastic posts and they are easy to pull and move. Just make sure that you put one run of wire/ribbon down about 6" off the ground or the little booges will go right under.

Yeah I may be a spoiled brat but ya

Yup I use to raise 2 a year. But then we got the goats and they took over my hog pen. Now I am making plans to build my new RIR bantam coop there.
Just make sure if ya get pigs that they have SHORT SNOUTS and if not getting wieners make sure what they have been fed. Garbage hogs are not worth the cost of the lead injection to kill em.

CL
If you want to move them around you can get elec. fence that can be moved and than also have a calf hut or two for the goats. We have three Calf huts for the goats and the dog to share than the barn and a few sheds too, oh ya and a Costco Cano. for the kids when they head out of the house.
Thats right we keep the kids inside to make sure they are eating good and than disbud them and out they go to the world, yes we have a heat light on if its cold. They are taken better care of than my kids now I think..

OK, I will look into a resaonable size tape type elctrical fence set up, with those stakes..and then we can move them.
I love goats and wanted the kinders Illia had to sell...but we just were not ready back then.
I will look in the Farmtek mag unless anyone knows a better place to buy the tape-type electrical fence set up ?

It is soooo black now, but on the web site looks like the T-storm has calmed down a bit yet over N.Portland looks BAD!!
Hold ON Cloverleaf Farm!!!!!!!!!
Just got in from poop tray cleaning and it just started raining ! I took photos, so eery how you can see the weather coming in from our little farm here on the hill...
I will edit and post the pics.

CL (or anybody else interested) I have several hay racks that I built for goats. These are steel (imagine dat) and are made to be wall mount but I have also put 2 back to back and made them freestanding. Turst me ya won't find a better deal. I would sell them pretty dheap to keep me from cuttin em up to make bottle trees.
