Yeah I have the list of chickens I want.

2 silkies
1 barred rock
1 easter egger
1 cochin

I wanted a Light Brahama but I have learned that hatchery Brahama's are just not the same as breeder Brahamas

I am planning on going to the show.

That blue Ameraucana hen is hopefully going to the Monroe show.

She looks very fluffy in the image, but was molting. She's normally tighter toward the rear.

I was going to bring my Blue Ams to the show, but I cannot do the two night, three day thing, it is just too far and I have so much to do here.
Illia how will you ever eat all the vegies ?
Are you planning on Farmer's Market or a "truck" patch where you take fruits & veg to a roadside & sell them ?
My tomoatoes are about 6" tall, and I have 9, and that is way too much for us.
My greens are doing great, and my garlic is about 12" tall and smells so yummy in the row cover.
The squash you can see in the photos.
Illia you better built a BIGGER and STONGER green house !!

Sorrrry about the thumb! Hate it injury stops a project.
Thanks for the 4-H info, I'm so new, I have no clue. Need to find a club here.

If anyone is lookin for a sweetener that is a plant extract, try stevia. Comes in powder or liquid. I was allergic to the splenda and had to find an alternative. We use it on and in everything. Don't think you can make hard candy out of it but just about anything else. How this is helpful and not nosey:)

So are you not coming to the Monroe show?

The actual show is just Saturday. I know you will probably want to drive up Friday spend the night, do the show Sat and drive home Sunday. But you should SHOW!!!!

We've got a guy who built our goatbarn we're hoping to help us build the next greenhouse. It will be 60' x 20' The current smashed up one I'm going to be fixing up myself.

A lot of our excess will go to the future pigs we plan on getting as well as our poultry, but yes, we'll be selling a lot too as well as breeding a lot. I'm really excited to think of breeding a bunch, saving the seeds, and selling or trading them to the PNW residents. I really want to get heirloom varieties and their benefits out there as well as get people to grow their own food. Especially here in the NW, food is often hard to grow, but I'd love to share some of my tips and experience with others as the season progresses.

For one, it is a definite fact that other people have a far easier time getting the materials to grow difficult plants than I do.

Gosh you seattle-based people especially have free pallets, greenhouse supplies, etc all the time, right in the reach. I don't. In fact practically ALL my supplies were paid in full because I have no other choice.

OK, so I finally loaded some of my quilt photo's and one my youngest DD made.

Now take note, we are just learning!!!!

I started making rag quilts about a year and a half ago. That is how I learned to sew. Well, my two youngest girls joined a 4-H sewing group, and I learned to sew by learning what they learned. But the rag quilts were the first things I've ever made.

OK, made this one for the family room:

Made this one for oldest DD who's room is aqua/lime green/royal blue/purple:

Then my first actual "real" quilt for middle DD:

And a rag quilt for middle DD:

Then I heard about a charity called Downy Quilts for Kids. You sign up with them online and they send you all the pieces mostly pre-cut and you make it. Then they ask you to make one out of your own fabric stash and send them both back and they donate them to a children in various children's hosptial.

Then I just finished this twin size quilt for my youngest DD's bed, I also made a matching rag quilt but I didn't take pics of that one:

And now I'm starting one for DH who's birthday is next month. Don't know if I'll have it done in time, but it's a fairly simple pattern. Not ready yet to jump into those more complex designs with a million little pieces!

OK, and this is my youngest DD's first quilt. It's a Doll Quilt and she made it using a bunch of my fabric scraps. She made it over a year ago when she was 8, and entered it into fair last summer and won Junior Reserve Champion with it! She's working on another one for fair this year. The other DD has not interest in quilting and one's to focus on clothes because she wants to be on Project Runway when she grows up. Unfortunately, I have no desire whatsover to learn how to be a seamstress, so she's on her own!
