Thanks. In the summer we don't want to go outside It is hard to force the kids out, even our 4 year old who loves being outside does not want to go out. Since stuff still needs to get done (animals, lawn and garden) it is usually me that suffers the humidity.

Oh, we don't have the humidity...more of a dry heat. I love the nice warm days...even the hot days. But it is only humid if we have a good storm brewing. Please realize I was only joking...I meant no offense.

We moved from Oregon City in April 2009. I grew up in San Diego, though, so the fact that I love the snow makes my family think I am off the deep end.

I grew up in Modesto, CA and never saw snow fall till I moved up here. So I, too, am a snow lover! But I miss the sunshine something terrible. Wish we had more of it and less grey on this side.

No offence I took it as a complement. You are not the first to say I am weird. My wife and kids say it all time when I dance like it did in the back in the eighties.

Sorry your chickies are being sickies. Hope all works out well for ya. I don't know for chickens but think it would be the same and IF I remember right from our goat daze Cocci is in the ground. And some are just more sensitive to it.
I am trying to figure out if the weather is nasty out because I am going to need a nap later or if I woke up waaay too early so I could nap through the nasty weather. Yes we were getting snow dumped pretty hard just before but now it is just raining.

Of course it has to turn nasty because I am trying to get a load of steel ready to go to town. Speaking of that for any of you crafty people. I have a bunch of saw blades if interested. I have 19" and 28" round and 13" band. PM me SOON if ya are interested otherwise it is going in the next load of scrap.

We built the nest boxes so the eggs can roll-out to the back side following plans posted by "Opa". I only plan on using that feature if I ever get an egg-eater. Until then, I will give them some sort of soft nesting material that they can fluff-up and make a mess out of. I made the nest boxes pretty big too, so they would fit neatly where I wanted them. Since my girls are all used to sharing one big nesting box, I wouldn't be surprised if several will crowd into one box and leave the others empty. Thanks for all your good ideas

ReiMiraa so sorry about your great aunt. Glad you have good memories of her. I did the same with my Papa who had alzheimers. Granted he was back east so it would have been hard to visit him. But I prefer to remember him working in his garden and painting with his watercolors.

It is snowing hard here! Started with hail, but now heavy snow that is blowing sideways!!!

Well since it doesn't look like a nap is a happening thing

I was getting ready to go out side. Then DW says look it's snowing. It was really dumping.

So I get all set to treat my addiction (BYC)

and now the sun is shining bright!

It is lookin like I am gonna be the bug on the windshield today.
