Wow am I just in a huge rut.

Today, the family was to head out to Seattle to pick a puppy up. I ended up not going. Once the family returned. . . No puppy. Apparently it is stuck at an Airport in Arkansas or something. So, now I'VE gotta go with them Wednesday to pick it up, AGAIN, another 10 hour drive. . . I feel bad for the driver, but really. . . I had an auction that just ended for some hatching eggs whom I was planning to ship today, but can't drive to the PO to ship em (no available vehicle with them gone), so I set the ship date to tomorrow. Well, of course, I'll apparently be gone tomorrow, so that leaves Thursday in which honestly, who wants their eggs shipped that late?

Local people.

My buyers are not local. . . .

Oh and to add to it, we'll be driving for 10 total hours through SNOW.

OMG, sounds like you need some RED BULL.
Or straight ginseng tea.

LOL! Thanks but Red Bull isn't going to help me right now! But I do drink lots of tea!! I have a HUGE mug of Kombacha tea right now!

OMG, I just googled Kombacha.

Wikipedia has a picture of it. What kind of fermented applesauce is that?
Are you sure that stuff is FDA approved? It has layers of something growing in it. It seems to be alive

What kind of benefits can you get from this brew/fermentation? It mentions that it has medicinal properties.
I mean there has to be a very big chicken staring me down to get me to drink this.
Tea to me is like Earl Grey, Mango Green, Lee Chee Black, Jasmine Pearls, Dragon Well, even quails egg tea.

(all of which is a clear kind of liquid with lots of good old caffine in it)
You got me curious here.
Don't get me wrong here I am usually in line to drink medicine tea. Sometines ones that smell so bad I have to open all the windows when I brew the stuff.

OK too many typos here.

CL : I love the gizmos you have.
I've use your fence idea with the bird netting idea and am building my own.
The hatching in a plastic basket will be used in my hatcher next week for my first duckie.
The plastic tub thing will come next, but I was also thinking of inverting the halloween tubs.
And now there is a water can?
I just got to see it.
And when I'm finally done building all these new toys and duck run / coop, I'll show you my pics.
What an enabler!

Those mortar tubs come in 3 sizes at Home Depot, the small one is size of a cat litter box, the medium one I use for dust baths, and the large on is about 2 X that size, perfect for duck baths.
I have seen alot of duck breeders (including Holderead's) uses the medium size for their outside duck baths, and say that way the inside of the barn stays dry.
I will take a pic of the water buckets...

Where exactly can one buy bird netting? I could really use some.

I buy mine from the hardware store, but good garden centers have an assortment of sizes too.

pips&peeps :

Chlorine will not kill the cocci oocytes. Oxine will kill them though.

I have used Corid and I presently just purchased Sulmet. Do you know of any other preventative measures I can take...short of keeping my hens in masks and wrapped in plastic? I have bleached down everything. The ground outside is frozen, as is their poop and the dirt. I just don't know why. They free range as often as I can let them out and this summer they will get to do even more. It breaks my heart that I have lost hens because of this parasite. I just don't get it.
