But do you know (for sure) that there have never been fish in that water before it went in the glass??

BTW did ya get the PM's ???

It is not the fish I'm a worried about. Its the stuff that came out of the fish's behind that is IN the water....that WAS in the glass.

It's taking too long. I ordered my Brinsea Eco Friday night. It's already Tuesday. Don't think mine has shipped out yet. Not that I can hatch anything for a while, I just want mine in my hands!

Oh, it will drive you even crazier once it "in your hands," and empty!

Yay for you lucky woman! What kind of eggs are you getting from CL? LOVE hearing about everyone's hatches. Hallerlake, did you get those Brabanter eggs into your bator? I'm curious to hear how you're handling your first hatch.

I do remember the appendicitis pain getting worse if I moved.

The pain started up high, near my stomach, and gradually moved down and to the right.

I have basset hounds. They are prone to bloat and torsion, but I've been lucky, too. I free fed. They never gorged at one time. I've had to stop that because of Miguel's pill schedule. They have to be taken with a meal.

1. Yes, it can happen any time, for any reason, sometimes for no known reason at all.

2. Feed AFTER excercise, and after the dog has had time to cool down. Don't ever let the dog tank up on a bunch of water, especially right after heavy excercise.

I just stopped by and have not read all the posts, I will try and get thru them. but wanted to add that some breeds or types of dogs are more prone to bloat and torsion than others. Large deep chested breeds are more prone than most. Feeding your dog 2 or 3 times a day instead of once does a LOT to prevent bloat/torsion. a single large meal can cause bloat. adding water to the dry kibble can help a little also. Some people believe that feeding a large breed in a raised dish will help prevent bloat, I have no experience with that so research might prove true or not. No heavy exorcise after a big meal.
In some breeds that are very prone to bloat or in a dog that has bloated previously tacking the stomach to the abdominal wall can prevent future torsions from occurring.
I raise and show dogs, have had quite a few breeds that are prone to bloat. I have been lucky and avoided it, feeding on a regular schedule at least 2 x a day etc etc.

Ditto, I thought they were real too.

Russ

Me three or four. I had to study it out, and I am still not quite sold on the fact that they are cupcakes.

The paper cups were a dead giveaway.

When my eggs came in the mail, one had broken, and gotten on a couple of other eggs. I did rinse them off. Is that okay?

I was told not to wash my eggs, as it was not good for them. Thoughts everyone? I just wipe them off with a paper towel. My oldest DS was mortified...he tells me, "you do know they come from a chicken's but"...."Yes, dear I realize that. That is why I tell you to wash your hands after handling eggs". Sheesh, how stupid does my 17 yo think I am?

He was not planning on incubating those eggs. He have bought a second incubator, have some space and said what the hay and put some eggs in. I would never wash eggs I wanted to hatch.
